Ok about a few days ago I had isues with the game. I could log in but when l got in game to get into my mech bays it threw back into the log in screen saying Unknown failure. I tried the repair tool with no luck, i tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck. I even tried changeing the IP and ips address and I still cant get past log in, is there a way to fix this?

I'm getting the same "unknown Failure" message at log in. Couldn't log in at all yesterday. Did a re-install over night and loged in for a few games then It crashed on the third and I'm back to the "Unknown error" log in farce. I've trawled the forums for a solution but cant seem to find out what the issue is. Please help.

OK this may sound wacky to you guys and may not be the same issue, but one night MWO crashed on me. Every time I tried to log in after, it would say the same message in the OP.
But here is something else, maybe this is happening to you guys too:
Wierdly enough, MWo client was crashing like OP's, but I couldn't access this website either (mwomercs.com). Other sites were fine. My friends were logged in and playing still, and could access the site (was talking to them on Teamspeak at the time).
I did the following:
- rebooted my PC.
Well that didn't work, so next steps were:
- flushed my computer's DNS cache (ipconfig /flushdns from cmd prompt)
- reset my router
That did it. I am assuming that resetting my router also flushed it's cached info. Not sure which of those was the magic step...
Anyways maybe that will help you guys. Or maybe it was just my router being screwy... but, I'm a tech guy by trade, I could see no problems, also I don't buy crappy hardware
. That said I have seen much weirder sh*t when it comes to electronics so who knows, lol.

Sometimes the router does get scrambled when MWO crashes - is MWO scrambling the router, or is the router scrambling the MWO connection? Hard to say which happens first. Rebooting the router cleaned it up for me as well.
