Down in the under-hive, matches don't last that long.... I think I've run out of ammo on it twice, since July...

This is funny because 80% of my drops lately have been on the new map.

Not 80% for me... But definitely been playing my fair share on the new map.

They just need to release more open maps like this and a few very confined (Big City) maps as well. Then, people will have no choice but to bring balanced load outs as 'one trick ponies' will be nearly useless on the wrong drop.

I've said it before and I will say it again: Randomize both map and game mode selection!

Get your modifier up to x12 and start ghost voting them into the new map.

Though I have to say I'm not surprised that the EU players would avoid it, most of them have a hard time playing if there aren't rocks to hide behind for 3/4ths of the match.

Pardon? Not all of us are rock hiders thanks. Don't be so condescending.

This trend of avoiding the new map cause you dont have a balanced loadout or dont know how to play on the new map NEEDS TO STOP!

Build a more balanced build please. AND STOP MAKING IT SO I CANT TRY THE NEW MAP!

Pgi puts all this work into the dam thing and all you guys do is avoid the **** out of it cause you want to stay in the old meta becuase you cant be bothered to adapt. Its sickening and its a miracle this game is still even running with people like this

i'm not avoiding it i just played it like 60 times the first day it was out..i like it a lot just don't feel like playing it every single time it's a choice

Easy solution ... use the voting system.

When Polar Highlands is available ... vote for it.
When it isn't ... don't vote.

Your vote multiplier will get big enough quickly enough to force the match to polar highlands in many cases. If there are enough people doing this then it should come up more frequently.

I was really looking forward to this map release. I figured that it would be even better than map releases with random selection + weighitng, because now we would actually get it all the time. But I'm fairly sure I've played Polar Highlands less than 10% of the time since it was released. The chance of getting to vote on it at all is relatively low, and people also try to downvote it because they are afraid of LRMs.

Why do people assume someone might not want to play the map every time it comes up is because of LRMs? Personally, I just don't want to play the new map any more than the others. We have 15 maps. Ideally, I'd like to play on all of them before playing the new one for the 5th time.

When I was in solo queue people voted against it more often than not, but when I went into group queue they seemed to vote for it every time it came up.

I don't assume that everyone has the same reason. But quite a lot of [silly] people have explicitly stated the reason I just gave :)

Amount of ammo should be calculated via expected amount of damage, you want to deal. LRMs are 50% effective at best case. 30% in most cases. 1080 missiles - is just about 300-500 damage. Definitely not enough.

I do that for TT already so I'll do that for for this one too.

Also as a light mech BnZ style player I must admit I love playing during Euro prime time. So many semi isololated snipers to kill so little time.

I skip the new map because it's boring. It's a huge version of canyon network with gently sloping hills instead of canyon walls. No cut off points no real maneuvering required, just big wide open hills.

I know this line is going to come up "other MW games we're all about big open maps like this." Who cares? The technology wasn't good enough back in the day for anything except big wide open maps.

IMO. Bring in more city scapes and multi leveled maps over gently sloping terrain on a ridiculously huge scale. Frozen City is an example of a really fun map. Now just remove the snowdrifts and let us fight it out between two city blocks with an open plaza where the crashed plane is.

At yesterday's evening I avoided Polar all the times, it was up for vote - 0 matches there. Today I avoid it in 50% cases. People want to see new map, but they are getting smarter pretty fast, so this map moves to Therma category, where you need to stack 12x to troll other players. Of course, if there will be no players like me, who will counter it.

Can't believe I'm agreeing with MrMadguy on something but he's right...not nearly enough ammo for LRM 60. For comparison, I run the HBK-4J with the 2 LRM 10s and usually bring 1700+. Yes, I've run out before and it's good for 700+ damage at 40%.

6 tons for 6 10s doesn't seem worth...have you run 6 5s instead with extra ammo?

Yea, i've done the 6X5's, set to chain fire and sit back...

Still i prefer 6X10's with some Mlas once ammo goes dry, I've made my Mad Dog brawl fairly well late game.

Hey bro what do you mean multiplier?

If you select a map that does not get voted you gain a cumulative multiplier to your next vote. As such, vote the new map if possible and otherwise get your voting weight up.
