From the page, right under the line you just quoted:
"If you don't own a Warhammer 'Mech that qualifies for the Leaderboard event you'll still have plenty of opportunity to earn some rewards in the cumulative Personal Challenge component."
So, every mech is OK

Yea I was speaking of the Personal challenge part but I figured that out. Just waiting until 5 now to get the mechs. Thank you =D
