hahahaahah
Actually to the contrary i think its PGI's best forward move in years. finally a map that feels dynamic and fluid and not just a go here and fight in this spot over and over.
really hope they carry on with this style of map making

Kind of like the first response to my OP.
I've learned from the Polar Highlands that:
This game receives new content at such a slow rate that when something as simple as a "new map" is released the majority of players are drawn to it like beliebers to a new bieber album.
This game expects more than the staple "one time purchase" fee to be paid.
The average player is bored.
The average player has no intent on assisting the other people on his team.
The average player just wants to sit back and shoot rocks. (or erL/ppc/cannon)
The average response is to defame or flame the original speaker rather than attempt to communicate.
After less than a week with this map being spam picked, (and algorithmicly spammed as an option), I have seen more players suicide out of bounds, initiate fratricidal conflict, ignore objectives, and make piss poor tactical decisions at an alarmingly disparaging rate. To the point that an AFK or a disconnect is regarded as at least being polite in their direct and straight forward approach.
The map would be fine, if it wasn't large enough to allow time to look, open enough to provide vision to see and frequent enough that it can't be avoided, because instead of seeing enemies, objectives and cover, I see individuals, ignorance, and a lack of competition.

In other words, it isn't really the map. It's the piss poor underhive players that ruins everything.
Yeah, I can see that. Except this map doesn't bring it out of people more that usual. It just punishes the stupid, the pigheaded, the inflexible, the Rambos, and the situationally unaware far, far more than the other maps. To that? I say "GOOD."
Maybe if more maps were like this it would force people to actually use their damned brains when playing the game and actually promote building mechs with slightly more varied loadouts so they could adapt to the battle regardless of map, as opposed to hyperspecialization and being left out in the cold when the map changes to something totally counter to their configuration.

Each mech has a role to play If you have comms on this you can lead them right into ambushes and actually use power down as an advantage.
Played one game before and some dude took command and it was awesome we used our lights to bring them all into a murder pit 8 mechs powered down until the right moment
Epic.
Look OP it does appear really childish that one map can cause you to quit...I don't like some maps and curse when I play them but I get on with it.
It is a multiplayer game If you want everything your own way find a single player game to play.
Oops Oay read more than the OP I kinda agree but it is up to the vets here to show this isn't just a ball up and shoot everything under 300m.
With maps like this in CW and a longer game time well it would be amazing.
