[The FOO]

I'm on the Fast build insider track and just updated to Build 11102 last night.

Today MWO won't launch after the login screen. It just goes black and reports "An unexpected error occurred" after which a crash report window comes up.

According to the build release notes there are known issues with some games.

• Some PC games will crash switching from windowed mode to full screen, upon game resolution change, or upon launch due to a bug in Windows graphics stack. We have observed this with The Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Tomb Raider, Assassin’s Creed, and Metal Gear Solid V but it may occur with other titles as well.

I came up with a workaround for this issue just launch MWO in windowed mode. You can change this from outside the game by editing this file.
C:\Users\"Windows Account Name"\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online\Profiles\"MWO Account Name"\ attributes.xml

Make a backup copy of this file before editing it.

Open it in a text editor such as Notepad and and find the line <Attr name="OptionCfg.ViewMode" value="2"/>

change value="2" to value"1"
Or delete the whole line.

Thanks for that suggestion, it worked and I can launch the game again.

I was about to start a reinstall of Windows. :-/

Thank you for sharing. I woke up this morning with the Win10 11102 build installed and MWO crashing every time. Your fix works like a charm.

Problem still pcrashing since the new MWO patch dropped. Any other ideas?ersists for me, checked it value was already set to 1. Deleted line like suggested and still crashing. I have been
