Voting needs transparency to be believable. If other peoples' votes were hidden, then they might as well not exist. The vote screen could be replaced with completely random map selection and nobody would be able to tell the difference.

You can't have locked voting - it just won't work. Eventually everybody figures out that all they need to do is wait until the last second to vote - to keep their vote a surprise. Then soon enough, nobody ever votes until the last second, so the result is unpredictable among the people trying to vote legit and the people trying to farm the multiplier for fun.

I think the present system is best (though I preferred when it said the increasing weight of the votes, before they changed it so that all the votes together add up to 100%. Now it's harder to tell how heavily the votes are weighted.)

How do we know, that current system isn't fake too? We could say it, only if PGI would show, who voted for what. Now it's just faceless percents - nobody knows, if they are real or not.

No mode voting.
Hide map votes.
After voting, no change possible.

Because when you vote, and your vote contributes toward your map winning, and your map wins... you know that the system is working. And the other 23 players are having the same experience as you.

There are two things I keep in mind when I get irritated about the new system.

1. Before this we had zero control and RNG has given me terra therma five games in a row. Personally I don't mind the map, but after seeing it that many times anyone would get sick of it. (See new map discussions and keep in mind that you had NO choice in map rotation when a new map came out before...)

2. It makes the game FEEL more complete. The ready button for game launch has bothered me from day one. No lobby and all the group tools took so long that now people forget they exist. All we had was lab and launch.

Yes, people "troll" you with "bad" maps but it is no worse than the randomness from before except now you have some defense against it.
