With all the hub bub about the re-scale I decided to make a back up copy of the game. Then the idea of the title of this post came to mind. What if pgi let us use the pre re-scaled mechs in game for a small mc amount? Imagine coming round a corner to find the original sized atlas bearing down on you. Spooky Atlas: Return of the Spook.

If I were the one to allow such a thing and keeping all the pgi-is-broke threads in mind I'd do these mc prices getting the micro part of micro-transactions finally in pgi on a per mech basis. Easy money for those waiting for sales and a new reason to buy mc besides just hero mechs.

Original light mech scale unlock: 150 mc
Original medium mech scale unlock: 250 mc
Original heavy mech scale unlock: 350 mc
Original assault mech scale unlock: 450 mc

Bit of both. I'm curious if any one would use the "original" mech if they had the option. you and I know pgi wouldn't do such a thing because it would be counter productive to all the time spent on the rescale and even if they did you know the mc price for it would be twice the bigest assult package in the game with their macro-transation pricing. I however would love to have and use the option on my mechs.

What you are asking for is effectively P2W. Of the rescales, I count 21 reductions in size/height, 27 increases in size/height, and 3 purely aesthetic changes. If someone buys all old chassis, the net effect is to allow paying players to elect smaller 'mechs.

Of course, if they do it on a per-chassis basis, I can imagine people wanting the old IS lights but not the old Catapult or Nova.

And if it is a per-weight class basis, then it's hard to say that choosing pre-rescale lights isn't P2W. Yeah, your under-used chassis like LCT and ADR are getting a little smaller, but the "OP IS LIghts" will go back to their old size--Jenners, Wolfhounds, and Firestarters.
