So, I was having a chat on the NGNG Discord about the possibility of mech-mounted artillery pieces, and, after some Sarna digging, I have found two that actually could work under the current build rules. They are the Thumper Cannon, and the Clan Arrow IV. Now, in battletech, there are actually two different sizes for ballistic artillery. Artillery Pieces, which were either static or had their own dedicated carrier, and Artillery Cannons, which were smaller, lighter, and could be mech-mounted. The Thumper Cannon falls into the latter camp. At 7 crits and 10 tons, it's a hefty piece of kit, especially for what amounts to an ERAC5. However, the benefit is that it is an ERAC5, with range that would likely reach into the Kilometers.

Clan Arrow IV is an interesting dilemma. At 12 tons and 12 crits, it would be the heaviest weapon in the Clan's arsenal. However, it is more the firing mechanism that is the issue. An Arrow IV missile deals 20 damage with artillery level ranges. How would this be balanced? Well, without TAG or NARC(and specifically these two), the Arrow IV missile is a giant, slow moving dumb-fire rocket, powerful, but hardly practical at long ranges, and spending that much weight on a glorified AC20 hardly seems worthwhile. However, with TAG and NARC, it suddenly becomes a single-missile LRM20, and that could be unpleasant.

Well, what do you think about these two "big guns"?

On Sarna there is actually this weapon called a mech mortar, it comes in 4 sizes: mech mortar/1, mech mortar/2, mech mortar/4 and mech mortar/8, it uses missile hardpoints. The lightest variant weighs two tons for the inner sphere, one for the clans, largest variant weighs ten tons for inner sphere and five for clans. This weapon's description kind of seems more suited to artillery in how it supposedly fires a series of arced shells on to a target, but it also comes in multiple sizes. They supposedly were replaced by LRMs. Haven't bothered to really check if they are supposedly really bad or wouldn't work in the game or anything like that, but just throwing out the idea in case you didn't see it, as it's name and description practically screams artillery.

Arrow does not do 20 dmg to one location, it is Artillery class which means it is spread out. The fat missile to one location system is the Thunderbolt.
