I'm using the XL-275 from my Griffin 3M.
I was using STD stock engine but after a few days, I realise the vast majority of death were caused via CT destruction. So I switched the engine and the extra weapons and DHS helped a lot.

So... do you XL in your WarHammer? If so, do you put the tonnage into more engine or more weaponry? (I already max out armor and front-shift most of it.)
If you do XL, do you find you are dying to ST loss enough to go back to STD, or is that rare?
Enquiring minds want to know!

So far I'm running a STD 280 in the 6R, an XL 300 in the 7S, and an XL 340 in the 6S. Ironically, the 6R is built primarily to snipe (2 x PPC, 2 x AC/5) so really doesn't need a STD, while the other two mount variations on LPL+MPL/ML and so are somewhat more brawly.
I haven't noticed dying to ST loss in either of the XL versions yet, except for one time when I got a ST cored out from behind. Which wasn't really an XL problem, it was a "why'd you let that guy get behind you, *******" kind of problem. ;-)
In the case of the 6S I went for speed because the build just doesn't need any more tonnage for weapons. In the 7S I went for a balance that seems to be working really well despite being essentially a slower and less powerful version of the 6S. (It runs significantly cooler, though.)
