Commandos are a terrible example, they are freakin ninja mechs that don't require many hardpoints because they have ridiculous start/stop speeds and can change directions on a dime.
They didn't even need the structure buffs, but I'm not going to complain with being able to tank damage like 50-60 ton mech.

That would be all good, if they didn't run outta ammo so fast.. I play commando's and love um.. But the really do need some tweaking. A death's kneel can pump out the damage, and pin-point.. and push out 500-1k damage games no problems. The missile based commando's can cap out around 350-400 most of the time.. Unless you get lucky and find a slow poke assault that will chew up 1.5 tons of ammo before it drops.. you did a lot of damage, but not pin-point, and dropped one mech, and then are kinda screwed the rest of the match.
commando's and spiders both need some love. To me commando's need a bit of structure and an ammo boosting quirk. 8V8 this was not much of a problem, but killing 12 mechs it really is, same with CW.. do you ever see one in CW?
Spiders i think need to get better with the DPS quirks, perhaps some jump quirks as well..to me it should be the most mobile mech in the game.. It is, but still can use some love.
But outside of that, what is the OP talking about, is something changing?
