I can appreciate how new players could mistake LRMs for being OP, though I'm surprised that they would post about it so confidently. People that try to "lurm the game instead of learn it" are usually the same players that get eaten by Arctic Cheetahs.

lol more bull on the OP's post than you'll find on a cattle ranch. Or did they recently create a 6th tier?

And the problem with playing aggressively with LRM's is that you're easily out dps'd by anything with direct fire. You have to catch them in the open and unaware, since you have to stare your target down to hold a lock. Not to mention pathetically slow projectile speed, unreliable spread damage, ammo reliant, heavy, and easily mitigated by AMS and ECM. **** me, LRM's are catching up for the worst weapon in the game.
I agree LRMs are bad, but you're not entirely accurate. I recently mastered that crappy mech and tried all the bad builds. The LRM5s he mentioned will hit almost entirely CT on a heavy, so in his case, the damage isn't spread, and the 6xLRM5 Mad Dog does put out stupid DPS. If you play smart you can send that high, CT seeking DPS right over the heads of your assaults and half the time it takes them to core out an enemy, while reducing the enemy's accuracy. All that said, a Timberwolf can do everything a Mad Dog can better and direct fire is better in 90% of situations.

Don't let them dissuade you, OP. Please, continue to use whatever mechs you enjoy.
We eagerly await to show you the effective counterplays to your mech.

Not one person told him not to play that mech, the people who know better just disputed his "easy button" mech, at least against good players.

Again, I'm pretty sure he's not "doing it right" to really work it against better players (2000 rounds LRM ammo, he definitely isn't) but while people scoff...
20 dps, and that's at very close to heat neutral. The LRM's focus CT. The er smalls push 20pt pinpoint alphas very quickly. Ability to fire over friendlies in a brawl and push 100% cockpit shake uptime.
1v1, there absolutely are better mechs. But in a big brawl, the lack of reliance on direct line of sight and the shake are very valuable.
It's not an easy mode mech. It's still a mad dog, so you have to be very careful with your side torsos. It's tempting to hold back and lurm, but that's a losing strategy. For the build to really work, you need to push in hard with your brawlers and work the lasers too, share your armor.
Ironically, its a better brawler than a splatdog. Way higher damage output due to heat efficiency, and 50 point alphas may not look as good on paper, but they can't be ignored. Particularly when half the damage output (the LRM's) never stops and can be fired accurately into the CT primarily even while the mad dog is twisting between laser vollies.
A splatdog hits very hard, but heat limits its endurance in a brawl. Sustained DPS output wins brawls.
