I would support this as well. Right now, the only interface for Orders is the BattleGrid, and only if you assume some kind of command role. Non-command players have no way to communicate on that interface, and providing them some set of controls would help Commanders greatly. Plus it would also cause that interface to be used as a lot more than just a map, which it is currently only being used as most of the time.
Sure, there's the chance that too much information could come in on that map at once. The same could be said of just having a list of field chatter. But not having it at all definitely makes things a hell of a lot tougher for players to coordinate, and it most certainly puts too much pressure on people to go download an extra voice chat client that shouldn't have been necessary in the first place.
Heck, it would be nice if we could splat things in view the same way that the Tutorial Command NPC (
Captain Adams, I think their name is?) is capable of, floating the pointers just a short distance above the actual terrain. And then there's waypointing, which players are sorely in need of for guiding to avoid problems.
