moments of honesty like this would actually have gotten you a lot less grief to begin with. Instead of claiming it was altruistic for the good of the game. Since 90% of your opposition was explicitly because of that one reason.

Go figure.

Now if only you could be so honest about the nature of the feud you almost single handedly invented, lol..... (and still drop little offhand comments to keep simmering despite claiming "I'm ignoring you").

and still missing the basis of the comment.......
(and love how many people seem to think that the total alpha number matters, compared to how much of the Atlas's alpha is FLD, allowing it to twist and spread damage, but that too, is another discussion)

one responds to whiny children too, doesn't make the child right or witty.
*shrugs*

I've been nothing but honest, tech 2 and removal of "timeline" limitations is my next crusade and while crusading I will still voice about the MK II... god forbid I have an agenda like 98% of the forumits. In fact new CryEngine, could mean new tools , new tools can lead to easy weapon implementation, suddenly tech 2.

It's not made up, when the same 8 or so people pop up in my every thread, it becomes fact.

Again I'm not here to make friends, I have those, I don't need more,

Watch out I might ask for the OMEGA again

>First IS has way more mechs than Clans
>Second we finally got our first hero, yet for some reason IS is getting another hero Butterbee
>Third that "Orgins" pack is just IS mechs with clan tech

>I don't know the exact difference in numbers but I'll go with about 20 mechs disparity
>As far as heroes go IS doesn't deserve anymore Heroes for the next year 2016 should be the year of the Clans you IS boys had 3yrs time to sit back son!

To be fair... battletech writers have no imagination and just slightly refluff existing bits of history.

Succession era? European history post roman empire.

Clans? WW2 Blitzkrieg and space {Godwin's Law} (likeable and more or less honorable space {Godwin's Law} but space {Godwin's Law} none the less)

Fed Com Civil War? Feels kind of similar to the war of the Roses...

Jihad Era? Eh screw it let's copy the Islamsist Extemist Terrorist BS oh and throw in some crap from the illuminati consipiracy theories. Give the war a different name? Nah Jihad is fine, these dumb clicky tech kiddies won't care and any remaining battletech fans will just buy our re-re-remasted edition of the earlier rulebooks.

Wars of Reaving? Uh... crap... we need to rebalance the clans... uh... they destroy themselves for reasons!

to be fair..very few writers really come up with something truly new. There is very little new or original under the sun, just reorderings of existing stories in most cases.

And most game companies do drive it specifically to sell more books. Look at D&D. Heck White Wolf destroyed their entire game world to set up selling a "new" (and IMO more boring) version....

released last month, but it's been 4 months of IS MEch announcements since the Origins were announced. One more reason I hate the Jumbo Pack model.... glut of info, then nothing for months. Mech of the Month, IMO keeps people much more involved.

Basically a Direwhale with a 400XL Engine. No way to balance this even if they lock 5 Hover Jets...

I think it will be even worse, since Kodiak is not an omni, so no way to custom hardpoints.

Well it looks like an Atlas - Direwolf combo.

I expect to see an ECM + AMS combo variant, just my guess.

Unfortunately, no one will be using those claws for anything but looking cool. Who knows, that could change in the coming years. Time will tell.

Anywho, I salute the Kodiak and am glad that the clans get a Hero of their own. I reckon the other Clan heros (1 each at first) can't be far behind.

PGI is going in circles, I would say. Isn't it as it used to be originally? Hero 'Mech and other variants for MCs, and then available for C-Bills a month later?

have a feeling that dissatisfaction with a lot of the mechs in the jumbo packs were causing each Jumbo to see diminishing sales numbers. Guessing that the combination of "freedom of choice" and the specific mechs chosen caused a large uptick in sales with the older MotM 2.0 we have seen recently..... and so they'll chase whatever sells best...which is the smart way to run a business. Of course, if they release a string of weak MotM, they could see this dip, too.

Never understood the complaint about the mech packs. Don't want to spend money? Wait and by them for cbills. Want them when they launch? Spend money. Don't got $50? You probably should get a job and not playing games.

Well, it's hard to guess what's more important. If the "freedom of choice", or the fact that those four Unseen 'Mechs count among the most popular designs of the Classic BattleTech era.

Who knows? Perhaps those supposedly "weak" 'Mechs will get some special advantage in the upcoming Information Warfare and they willl be sought after.

However, as long as a half of your Match score is derived from the damage, people will buy 'Mechs with the greatest firepower and denounce other 'Mechs as "weak", resulting in weak sales.

my complaint was pretty simple. Didn't like the choices forced by jumbo packs, and way prefer a new mech revealed every month than huge 4 month gaps.

How much tonnage does the Kodiak have to play with? Around 35-40?

I'd guess and say with the 400xl and clan endo+FF it'll be close to 45 ton fully armored depending on what's hard locked. Hopefully nothing since it's a battlemech.

45 with Endo, ferro and XL400. 49.5 with endo, no ferro and XL375.
