Why Clan BAP does not counter ECM while IS one does? I know Clan BAP has its own feature which IS one does not have - its detecting shutdowned mech. It was useful in books where IS military liked to create traps for Clans with shutdowned meches. In game its 100% useless feature, while IS BAP countering ECM is 100% useful feature.

This need to be fixed, for the sake of balance. Clans in game gimped in too many ways

Clan BAP counters ECM just fine. Maybe you're piloting an ECM Mech yourself with BAP installed? In that case BAP won't work as it used to be because your ECM counterfeature overwrites the Active Probe.

CAP and BAP work exactly the same in this game, the Clan one is just objectively better by weighing less and taking less slots. Its not listed for the CAP however, which leads to confusion.

Unless, of course, I'm entirely mistaken and my memories of countering enemy ECM while in CAP equipped mechs are more hazy than I know.

EDIT: upon looking it up I confirmed it. In the patch notes linked in the thread linked below it is mentioned that BAP (and CAP, though not outright mentioned) had a buff to their ECM counter ranges.

Not exactly the same. CAP can detect shutdown mechs within 150 meter radius while BAP can only detect shutdown mechs within 120 meter radius. This is on top of CAP weighing less and taking less slots than BAP. It should be balanced by either buffing BAP range to that of CAP range, or making BAP slightly better than CAP due to extra weight and slot.

Okey, i tried and specially looked for enemy meches with ECM. Its indeed working, after battle i got points for counter ecm.
So its only description that need to be fixed.

There is a ton of stuff that is not mentioned anywhere ingame. You got to read old, and really old patch notes to know them. PGI.

Personally, I'd love it if both BAP and AP got their value increased, period. Make equipment (outside of ECM) worth taking. Imagine if (B)AP provided a 150 meter range 360 degree radar functionality?

One of the first matches in my DWF (started in Dec and mastered in Jan), I didn't have enough CBills for the omni-pods I wanted, so I had 2 tons left over. Shoved in some spare parts: TC1 and CAP.

On Tourmaline, an ECM ACH stuck up behind me and triggered my seismic before he rounded the corner behind me, and came face to face with me. My team made it rain. He was so (doubly) surprised, he didn't even bother giving me any parting shots as he ran back around the corner...
