Every time someone mentioned the Kodiak I rolled my eyes, but, damn. Hefty and mean.

You know you'd want them to glow. Think about it. Its river city night, you turn a corner, your on the wooded outskirts, and through the trees, you see a pair of red eyes and have just enough time to say FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.... before UAC20s.
At one time the Atlas eyes used to glow red. It was pretty awesome actually. Then Atlas pilots complained (rightfully so really)that the enemy could see their glowing eyes from across the map (they were smaller at that time). Plus the enemy would aim for the glow and it made headshots easier.
To correct this, PGI of course removed the glowing eyes.
So, I don't think PGI will add glowing eyes. It helps give away position and makes it easier to aim for headshots.
Now, I think PGI should bring back glowing eyes for the Atlas (and add them for the Kodiak), but allow the pilot to toggle it (bind it to the missile door key maybe?). Default it off and let the pilot decide what risk they want to take.

We know, and we hate bad pilots for crying about it, should be a check box to toggle on some mechs. I stop around in a GOLD mech I still crush people, even use it as a come get me tactic.

I wouldn't say bad pilots. Just people who didn't want a red bullseye painted on their head hitbox. I can understand that.
The answer is an on/off toggle if it is reasonably doable. Then pilots are in direct control of the consequences.

Only it can start assault at 660m range with 2 Gauss 2 LPLs.
The LPLs would be mounted relatively low, so those wouldn't make good sniping tools...medium or small laser/pulse spam would fit the mech's design better.
High-mounted Goose though would be a nice poking tool. I wouldn't bet on a variant getting 2 ballistics, though, since they already have like 11 hardpoints stock...

If your cockpit lights are on, your eyes glow.
If they're off, no glowy eyes. Makes sense.
It would help if the glow was implemented in a way that it fades away after 300m... rather than being able to see this red sparkle 1.5km away... (thanks depth of field)

You would rather have a protruding head that could potentially be shot from the side?
