Can I get some opinions on this build? I'm not sure on the flamer but it's saved me a couple of times when mechs have gotten to close.

I try to use them as shielding however poor a job they do heh. I tried to play with three ER PPCs but the heat was quite a problem, although I've not got the mech elited yet so I don't have double cool run or heat containment yet.

Good guns for a 50-tonner. PinaColada is currently one of my pet mechs. It's entirely too much fun and actually very effective. If you fear for your XL, you can run it with a STD engine, too. I think it's a bad trade, though. Paradoxically, in the high-alpha low-TTK environment we're in, a bigger XL allows you to hit harder and avoid bad fights better and actually leads to higher survivability. Even big STD engine mechs just can't tank the firepower they're receiving, so the meta has really changed. Where comp players once scoffed at things like XL BNCs, you never see them with STDs now, the trade just isn't worth it. Also, the 9M is the only AWS with the ability to even take a big XL, so take advantage of that. Again, just my opinion, but one I feel pretty strongly about (and I used to be totally allergic to XLs on anything bigger than a Jager)

I don't really want to scrap the er ppcs, I kind of want to keep the spirit of the mech alive rather than just sticking tons of lasers on it.

The 9M in brawler is very hard to master. All that twisting can make you dizy.
AWS-9M brawler more tanky

OR little faster: twist but mind the legs
AwS-9M, they think you have xl.. LOL

It basically an ac40 energy don't forget to twist after each alpha.

I would go more for PPC at range and Med Pulse at close quarters

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...1b081ba2a6434bd

or since LPL are the meta those days

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...bc57d02c584adf6

and a Missile version to annoy those that think LRMs are useless

Mine has XL375 and 21 heatsinks.

Personally, my favourite build was STD350, 2LPL 4ML and 16? heatsinks (with ferro).

Went 77 kph with a STD engine, 42 alpha is nothing to sniff at.
