Alright, cherry... you're new to the game, welcome. Want to play with the big boys? Then understand this... the game-mode voting system is here, it works, get used to it, it's not going away. A lot of people, especially those who've been here the longest, hate the new game-mode voting, and the only thing I can tell them, and what I will now tell you, is get used to it. If there is no game-mode voting, the queue's to get in-game are longer, which means you get to play less, because there are four camps in this game, with regards to game-modes:

Assault lovers
Conquest lovers
Skirmish lovers
Game lovers

There are those who love Assault and want to play it to the exclusion of all else, because with Skirmish there's no secondary opportunity to win if their team gets bum-rushed, and with Conquest there are too many points, and too easy to capture, meaning no focus between opposing forces. Some even go so far as to say 750 points is too much, or not enough, and each of them has their own reasoning why.

They fail to understand the game mode is what the game mode is, and the game mode should be played for what it's supposed to be... you either kill all of the enemy 'Mechs, or you capture the base, or both if you're lucky and good.

There are those who love Conquest and what to play it to the exclusion of all else, because they drive light 'Mechs and they feel that they are inadequate pilots in the other game modes. So, Conquest is where they really shine. Unfortunately, they fail to realize that no one is allowed to take the 'Mechs they need to take for the game mode in question, now, so they are, more often than not, still put off in their own favorite mode, they die quickly and someone else wins the game.

For Skirmish lovers, they feel the other game types are "EZ Mode", and that it should only be one team vs. another, and that is where they shine. Unfortunately, they fail to realize that it's ALWAYS Skirmish mode, regardless of what game they get, because they still get to kill whomever they wish to kill, as long as they can get to their target(s).

So, the understanding should be this... you WILL play every single game-mode type, so do your best to make the game, regardless of the mode, the best you possibly can. Don't go crying, like many of these one-mode types do, about one mode over the other, and play the game mode for what it is; be adaptable.

If it's Assault, and your team agrees to take the enemy base, or sit in defense of your own, that's what you do. If it's Conquest, get on capping, as fast as your 'Mechs legs will carry you, and kill while you're moving between those cap points. If it's Skirmish, kill anything that comes across your cross-hairs dead-fast-now, and enjoy the doing, but expect that you are likely going to have your 'Mech shot out from beneath you, as well. Remember, there's always a better pilot out there.

Enjoy the tiny amount of game diversity you have, right now, accept them for what they are and make the best of them. Don't denigrate them and yell and scream that you hate a game-mode, for whatever reason; your reason's don't matter, right now. Take the game for what it is and play it.
