I came from world of tanks here and get also stomped here long time.

Meanwhile I get better and will be likely on tier 3 today, although I still get ***** in CW, but here what i changed.

When I started i played with a "lets do dmg" mindset ... and got killed easily.
WTF, i take a Atlas and a bunch of smaller ones kills me in sme seconds... !?!?!

That game is all about trading damage, concentrating fire. As many weapons as possible should fire at as few targets as possible. Take them out and then dominate.
After changing mindset (at least to some extend) to "lets not get damaged" my performance got much better.

To take out enemies try to engage enemies with help of teammates. More fire on enemies - they are damaged and destroyed faster and cannot deal much dmg to you. Never get separated, you will be easy prey for wolf packs... as long you're won't be able to run away with 140kp/h or more.

Next steps is to optimize your builds. Usually it is better to build "specialists" which can use all/most of their weapons in a certain range at once. Do a dmg peak and hide to cooldown & reposition. Builds with 4-5 wepaon types usually are less effective. IS builds with STD heatsink ,without endosteel usually are just inferior.

Finally eliting your mechs with skills also makes a huge difference.

PS: what is your ping? when i started it was about 170ms which was not optimal, the client showed cool glowing and sparkling from my lasers and bullets but then the debriefing showed DMG dealt 126 ... 0 kills WTF!

Meanwhile i have more like a 110ms connection to NA and a much faster to EU, and my dmg output on my elited mechs is often 500, 800 and 3 or more kill games happen.

I cannot offer you much help for your framerate, as my technical expertise is about a decade out of date (but I was good at it then, I swear!) I can, however give you a bit of advice about tactics and cooperation with your team - I won't clutter up this topic, since everything I'd tell you is written elsewhere, other than to be a student of the game. You'll get more out of any game if you put in time (such as asking questions on the forums) figuring out the principles of gameplay.
