MechWarrior Online has a great community base of players who are die-hard fans of this game. Not to mention the BattleTech fans who stuck around. This in itself is a great thing. Of course you will have those who will complain and "those" who will try to make the game better. No matter, new ideas that involve the players is always a great idea. I am not sure if this topic has been brought up before but i think this could raise overall moral for those with deep interest in MWO.

As the title says, "Map Creation Contest". We all know there could be more of a map selection. Why not let the players have a chance to create one and submit it. This could go many different ways considering not everyone will be able to design a 3d layout of a map. If you have the software to do it then great! I personally do have a program to where i can design a map of my own. Which is what i plan to do for the next few days and then see what people think of it. For the ones who do not have the ability or availability to do so then there can be other options. For instance, they could draw it. Very detailed. Map Key, Range Key, Capture Points..ETC. Or whatever other ways someone could do this will be layed out in the contest instructions.

I think this is a very good and fun idea. I mean i am sure almost everyone wants a new map. Yes we just got Polar Highlands and i am thankful for that. I am sure the Team worked very hard on each of the maps. But giving the players a chance to create a new map would not only show that PGI is listening to us...and i am not saying that they are not....but it would show the players that we can also contribute to the game. I would like for this to be seen by many. I would like for this idea to make it to the top. I hope this idea makes it onto the discussion list for the big guys in charge. Why not?

Again, a map creation contest. Rules can range from actually creating your own with design software to drawing and detailed sketching. The rules of course would be up to PGI but all in all we would be the ones creating the new map. Think about it. Comment. Let me know what you think.

In the meantime i am going to start working on my map. I will eventually post the 3d model in a video and all that jazzy stuff. If you think this is a good idea or interesting then lets try to do this. Lets make this happen. Thanks.
