best you could do?

I'm right.

No, you are using a strawman to support your argument, I don't believe anyone in this thread has said PGI isn't a business or that we think that they should be like our mom (whatever that means). It means that we think the price is too high much like many other things regardless of nostalgia, too high of prices is a good way to give middle fingers to your customers especially in a free to play game where content for free players is delayed around 3 months.

The supply of digital products is infinite, so laws of "demand" don't really apply here.

Wrong.

people are buying it at the current price (i did). PGI has sold at least 4 other 'mechs in this manner recently and knows if this sales strategy works or not.

Supply and demand always applies.

Just because it works, doesn't mean it is the most profitable or beneficial in the long term. A lot of practices work technically, but it doesn't mean they are good Posted Image

The goal should be to maximize not only profits, but volume as well because it generally means you are increasing your loyal user base and increasing the potential for future expenditures by said users. That's one fo the advantages of using micro transactions.

You can take $20 off that by buying the other package. Looks like the difference is an extra KDK-1 with the champion bonus and a bunch of cosmetic stuff.

$50 for 6 mechs doesn't sound bad to me at all.

If I calculated correctly, after MASC is buffed the Kodiak hero variant should be able to run at 93 KPH in short bursts...lol. Close enough to cartwheels?

Maybe it will do that breakdancing thing some other mechs can do when it dies while going so fast

No, because minimum viable product is included in the definition of "it works"

Sure, it works, but it could be better, especially in this case.

Or you can spend 20 bucks and get 3 assaults.. In my book that is a little over 6 dollars per mech.. Only the cheapest assault ever to be released...

So your OP is very misleading.

Especially when you consider that a mastery pack for most assaults costs almost as much and you only get half as many mechs from those.

Milk me bby.

It's not like you need 7 Kodiaks, come on. And from what I can see the best are the first 3 anyway with the hero looking fairly decent, so that's what, $35? Or you can do the $20 pack to get the early adopter rewards and if you like them you can always upgrade later.

As usual it's the early adopter rewards that make the $20 pack more than worth it.

If you don't even think about the reinforcement pack, this is a better deal than the other unseen packs... its a 400XL 100 ton assault mech for the same price as the unseens...

I don't really understand the complaint, if you don't want to spend 70, spend 55, if you don't want to spend 55, the best deal is probably going Standard pack plus the hero, so 35 dollars for 4 100 ton assault mechs with 400 XL engines... Meh, this pack probably has the best deal of any of these solo packs thus far. Remember, people paid 40 dollars for 4 Urbanmechs. LMAO, talk about a rip off (objectively speaking).

And when you think about a complete AAA title like fallout 4, GTA5 or the latest XYZ that all cost 50$... how does it sound then?

Don't wanna jerk around and I spent more money here than I thought I did but I think the value is a bit shallow for so much money.

This is the best pricing they've ever done. I get to pay $20 for the assaults instead of $80 and pay for mechs I don't want.

$20 is totally fair.

Knowing that most "complete" AAA titles will always have season passes or day-one DLC that drives the price up another $30-$50 if you want everything, it's not that bad. Plus you have the option to just take the $20 pack and upgrade later if you like it, or just sell the mechs and keep the mech bays if you don't. Where if you buy a $50 full game and don't like it... too bad, so sad.

What I think is interesting too is the pricing of the boars head now. What is it in dollars, 36? And you still need a free bay.

For 35$ you get a clantech 100tonner plus bays and standard variants...
