Skimmed the last pages, sorry if this was answered.

I think $20 for the basic pack with all the early adopter rewards is a no-brainer. I think I'll at least do the $40 pack to get the c-bill bonus on the KD1. Here are my questions :

-Does the hero mech get a c-bill bonus?
Yes.

Quote

-Can the hero mech exchange its omnipods with the other chassis' and vise versa?
Battlemech, not Omnimech. No omnipods.

Quote

-Will the hero mech instead be able to change its equipment like the IIC's?
Yes.

Quote

-Will the reinforcements variants eventually come out for c-bills?
Yes.

I will pay $35 for the standard pack + hero and be happy with that. 4 variants, one of which has a +30% cbill boost plus all the pre-order extras is not bad for $35.

This is very interesting! Thanks for the info everyone! I'll have to go back and look harder at the individual layouts. Off the top of my head, it looks like only the KDK-2 can equip jump jets and only the hero can equip MASC? In that case I might just buy the $20 pack and maybe the hero. The reinforcements had a nice set of arms with missile points and no other redeeming qualities I can remember right now. If they aren't omni mechs, forget it.

Um... they ALL, are battlemechs. Battlemechs will clan tech, with the customization of an IS mech....

If you get the Reinforcements only the KDK-5 will be worth it, while the KDK-4... *shivers*

But yest, KDK-2 has jump jets, and the hero MASC.

Eh? K5 is the worst of the bunch. 11 energy hardpoints just isn't useful... if it was you'd see Dire Wolves using that many. (Dire Wolf can be kitted out with as many as 13 energy hardpoints.) The K1 can do anything useful that the K5 can do, and gets 2 missile hardpoints as a bonus.

Oh yes I know that the KDK-1 can do what the KDK-5 can do better, but c'mon...

KDK-4's hardpoint count:

4E,2M,2B, 1AMS.

the 2 Ballistics are in one shoulder, and 2E and 1M in each arm... how well would that actually work?

And again, I wasn't talking about the KDK-1, was talking about the 4 and 5. And really, what Kodiak is worse than the 4 in terms of hardpoints? which one? hmm?

2b in the shoulder get UAC10's, its better that they are in the same shoulder for convergence. Dual 10's are way better than a 20 - 40 damage for very little heat at 540m!

Then add a pair of large pulses in the same side, a couple ERSL/ERML/SPL's in the other, a couple srm4's. 375xl. Sword and board, 65ish kph.
