I think the Hunchback IIC style torso is just a style phase Alex is going through. He does go through them- if you look at all his artworks in order of when he produced them, you can see design trends that fade in and out.

Also I think it's to reflect the fact it's a Clan BattleMech and thus to connect it a little bit to the IIC mechs.

No.

OK lore is BS (does provide a decent revenue stream)

The artwork looks great

I fell in love with MechWarrior (not BT) from a bargain bin at walmart while recovering from surgery and cancer treatment. It is and will always be a videogame that has a decent back story from other "stuff". Like all stories they grow and take on their own life past their beginnings. Adapt and change or keep rolling dice in mommies basement.

Yea for sure, the concept art is surprise-surprise.... stupendous. Now how that translates to model is to yet be seen, but I'm sure it will be on par. I know its a ways away but when it does come out in April, I'm sure the forum will be rife with posts on how op it is, how its hitboxes are off, how it needs structure quirks/buffs etc etc.

As far as lore/content/fluff goes I think it is super important and frankly am disheartened by the lack of it in mwo. To me, the story is what gives a franchise staying power, justifies why you are running your walking death machine in a populated area, or holding off a quarantine zone. It keeps you thinking about intricacies long after you've left the game. That's a little of my spin on it, not the first time its been said by a forumite, and sure as hell won't be the last lol. To each their own, right? Glad to see you made it through your cancer treatment.

ps.I played a bit of MW2 and Battledome back in the day, but really fell in love with Mechwarrior 3 and MechCommander. Never got to play MC2 but tbh I didn't like that they tried crappy 3d models (akin to those in Warcraft 3) instead of sprites.

Mech Jager,

Congrats on beating cancer. Enough in one life for anyone I expect.

I enjoy the game because I've been into it since it was a board game. We like what we like. No need to apologize or make excuses for it.

I suspect you enjoy the game as well... Else you wouldn't be here?

@helsbane

Funny. That same thought occurred to me, I was saving it for the first ride in-game though! Lol

@kesmai

Indeed. But it doesn't bother me. I've spent good money on worse in my life.

So that's why it's been looking so familiar.

I just couldn't quite put my finger on it up until now. Thanks!

Ahh Tactical Dreadnaught Armour, how poorly you are implemented in game play for 40k.....

Just need to land 6 wounds on one for the odds to kill one... take a mob of 30 Boyz with 3 attacks each on the charge...

90 attacks, needing 4+ to hit ... 45 hits.... 45 hits needing 4+ to cause a wound.... 22/23 wounds needing a 2+ to save.... 3 dead terminators....

Termnators will not kill enough Boyz to cause moral check, stuck in combat... next round slightly better odds, but by the end of third or fourth round of CC, Boyz will win.

They aren't meant for anti horde roles anyhow. They are more an anti elite, vehicle kill squad with good staying power. Unless were talking Grey Knight paladin terminators and they can decimate that ork mob.

By the fluff a suit of TDA can survive a Titan stepping on it, and was originally a type of suit designed to operate inside an active plasma reactor iirc. But then when did the 40K universe fluff ever match up to the dreaded needs of TT balance? Posted Image

Yeah thats what I said the CT looks like that of the Hunchback IIC. I bet the clanners forgot to feed it so it ate an entire star of lights and mediums including one or two Hunchback IICs, and then found an IS Atlas for a snack.

Movie Marines rules?

Bolters seem to match up fairly well, when fired at Guard....
