I Need Someone To Convince Me.

1.) Buy stuff. That pays the rent and keeps the servers online
2.) Play the game. This reduces matchmaker waiting times for the paying players.
So, C-Bills, preorder, MC... If you buy kodiaks, then you are contributing to the game... It's just that.

You are part of the problem. Buying their redundant mechs doesn't help the game develop. We need to force PGI to give us more than just mechs.
I enjoy the game, so I support it. It's great that it's free to play, but I feel if you play a game frequently, you should support it. And if you don't play it, give it a rest and go troll some other forum. Just my 2 cbills , of course

The question is, is the reason you declared a "moratorium" a big enough deal (to you) to spite yourself? Or is your "stand" worth denying yourself something you want?
Only you can decide that.
Speaking for Me, if I am still willing to play the game, I figure I can't be THAT upset. Thus, if there is something I do want, I will not deny myself the best chance to get the best deal on it. Ain't no way I'd pass up the Archer, unless I literally decided to walk away from the game, for instance.
But that's me. To me, calling a moratorium, but sticking around, would feel like fence sitting. If I'm that annoyed, I'm gone, at least for the time being, or until what offends me is changed. But that is me.
That is you.
The guy who told people to stop purchasing mechs over highlanders and jump jets.
And now this is what you say.
Really?

Actual troll post.
I am not a troll and I have supported the game almost into 4 figures. So my money is where my mouth is. I will keep my finger on the pulse of this game until it dies or I just don't give an F anymore. It is perfectly fine to be happy with what they have done. However, when you take an honest look at the game we still don't have meaningful content that should hook players. You can add every stupid mech on Sarna and play team death match and the game wouldn't be any different from when I began playing in open Beta. CW has been pointless since injection and phase 3 is still two months out, maybe. Will it be a game changer? I hope so. When can we expect phase 4? A year and half after that? Development of the core game obviously isn't a priority. But I am just trolling right?

You can stay on your moral high ground and get the Kodiak.

I know it is a bunch of psycho babble but hey if you do buy it, then you most likely will have buyers remorse. Might as well not go through it.

The game isn't likely to change anytime soon, if we're honest here. CW 3 isn't going to bring much new to the table, and certainly not enough to interest you. If we're lucky, phase 4 will come out some time this year, but probably won't be anything to write home to mum about. So, yeah this game is mech-skinned team deathmatch shooter. PGI seems quite content with the way the game is going and isn't very likely to change any time soon. And if the game being in this condition brings you this much grief, just go play something else. No offense intended, but why would you hang around if if it makes you this miserable? You're not doing yourself any favors by hanging on to this game.

At this point I do neither. I may do #2 if CW phase 3 warrants it.

Do you still play? When you play, do you still have a good time? If you bought the Kodiak, would that contribute to you having a good time?
A long, long time ago I detached from the theoretical "promise" of MWO and instead simply take it for what it is. I enjoy it for what it is, so I keep buying more Mechs when they're ones that I think I'm going to like. I bought the Marauder and Warhammer, but not the Rifleman. I also got the Archer and Kodiak, and for the Kodiak for the first time ever I pre-ordered the Hero. (I'm still debating going back and adding the Black Widow to my Warhammer package.)
I really like the Mech-of-the-Month system because it lets me get just the ones I want, and in a package that I can customize to some extent. I no longer have to buy useless lights like the LOLcust, Mist Stynx, and Panter in order to get the Mechs that I really want. Yay!

Your right man. Key game play elements and features are missing. Basic polish like pilot eject animation isn't in yet. Holding a button down, then load screen is 2016 game play polish? Really? Player character creation in this game is pathetic, really really pathetic. And on it goes with complaints about many weaknesses in an otherwise excellent game, but missing so much its cringe worthy.
The reply above couldn't be more right, this game is to slow in being built. The only explanation that makes any of it even half justified is if really big features are being worked on. Phase 3 counts as that, but its a long time down the road since the game was launched and still waiting....
This game should be called Mech, not MechWarrior. Maybe they will have a kick starter to add the warrior part of the game.
"A new kickstarter has been started in 2016, PGI intends to add the warrior to MechWarrior, backers welcome." "If this isn't successful they will be forced to change the games name to "Mech Online" officially."
-IGN
"Russ and Paul and other PGI staff have recently started a music band to make extra money to add more features to MechWarrior Online. Here is some footage of them and the other PGI developers talking with their new manager." -IGN

I would rather see the game fail than have primarily team death match with 100s of redundant and most pointless chassis after almost 4 years of so-called development. Give us a hook, some actual content, a reason to think damn I better get on MWO and help my faction or house or clan get that planet.
So, what you're actually saying is that Piranha should stop working on everything but Commodity Warfare because to your own personal self, CW is the only thing that matters?
A'ight then. I don't care about CW in the slightest. In. The. Slightest. I want working Infotech, I would like Solaris, and I believe the game should be gearing up for a move forward in timeline to at least Operation Bulldog, if not the FedComm Civil War. Should I be demanding that all other players stop paying Piranha any dimes at all until my own personal goals are met? According to you - yes!
Tell you what, Grips - hm, or should I say Gripes? Either way. Tell you what, Gripes. I was mostly ready to skip Kodiaks, as I don't really do hundred-tonners and as much as I dislike even partially agreeing with Khobai, I don't really see the Kodiak being as nimble as pre-Giganerf Victors (which remain my favorite assault 'Mechs, even if only in memory)...but now, when I get home, I feel like I may just spit out another thirty-five bucks for a standard pack and Spirit Bear.
Because the Spirit Bear looks amazing, and if I can decide Warhawks are great even though I'm nominally a medium-weight, 90+kph pilot then the Kodiaks may surprise me yet. And frankly, Gripes?
Nobody decides how I spend my money except me.

"GRiPeS" I actually like that. You are the first to come up with that (seriously).
I want infotech, I want solaris for the game, I don't mind timeline events, those are meaningful engaging things that can hook people, I can add plenty of things like an actual skill tree to quirk our mechs ourselves, planets with bonuses, I can go on and on about content and features the game should have to hook players into investing their time. Yes everyone has different wants but this game lacks hooks. You can buy all the mechs they spit out and you have the same stale gameplay since its inception. No macro, no hooks, CW is the basis for longevity for this game. Collecting mechs and team death match will run its course and I don't think can sustain the game long term.
By all means spend your money how you like and no one is dictating to you how to do so. Please give your money to PGI to spite me or because you think the kodiak looks cool when you can't see it from the inside of your cockpit(maybe you play in 3rd person who knows). At least I caused some reaction out of you.
