So common sense would lead me to have the team of defenders in faction war to create a firing line infront of gates to abuse the choke. However my first 5 pub games were filled with congo line blob hardcore objective sitting action. Is there any reason why firing lines infront of gates aren't popular?

Even if its a pub v pub, the attackers tend to just congo thru 1 gate, but still defenders prefer to sit on objective even though they have the time to setup.

Protips pls

Join a unit, play in a group. CW is a game that's really best with an actual team.

Otherwise, you can try to lead - if it works, it's pretty much a garaunteed win against another pug team (teamwork is everything in CW). But that can be frustrating, too, so that depends a lot on you.

Or, just accept that people will do odd things, and try to adapt on the fly. This may(well, probably) means taking less than optimal strategies and just doing your best, but that's that.

Depend on who you are fighting. If you get a good team it doesn't always work the best because the mechs holding line will be sitting still. When mechs are not moving they're easy to focus fire on and kill.

If you're fighting a bad team and they string in single file and are not able to really return fire it works very well.

If you want to learn about what works you should join your house Ts server and stop playing with pugs Posted Image

Better yet join Marik and we will show you how to do it Posted Image

As far as I can tell, single files are the only way they attack in this game.

If you, in this hypothetical situation, have a full 12 man team of competent pilots a firing line would be a decent idea with a first wave of all high firepower assault mechs. Something like King Crabs, Maulers, or Dire Wolves with a lot of UACs and maybe an LRM boat or two thrown in to soak any enemies that come in. You'll need a target caller and you'll need to focus people down one at a time to take them out faster before they can get much damage on you.

In a best case scenario it goes like this:

In a worst case scenario you end up fighting a team like this and get run over:

So good luck.

This is the reason real teams kill pugs almost 48 to zero. When you play with a team you never go in alone always push as some type of group.

here an example of a team playing cw
