What is it, an voip? does anyone actually know? i hear about it sometimes but....i just dont know what it is honestly. How do i activate this an voip? Someone said it lets the team know what ur doing, what ever that means. WIll it help the team or what? i thought just talking to ours selfs on TS was just enough for the entire team to know what to do. but i cant seem to get my head around why other pugs arent doing what were doing, its like they cant hear us. anyway does anyone know what an voip is and what its used for?

VOIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol. It covers any sort of voice chat in games.
In MWO, VOIP can be activated by pressing and holding the [capslock] key by default. To use VOIP, you will need a microphone. Many gaming headsets come with one attached.
VOIP can be activated / disabled via a tick box in the in game settings menu. Disabling VOIP will prevent you from hearing anyone else using VOIP, so if you want to be a team player it is best to leave it on.

People can be really shy with voice stuff. I avoid using it because I don't want to bother my roommates, especially at night.

Anyway thanks for your reply Trout and Kaeb. It's very clear that its there in the options and i do know that not everyone wants to use their mic. But one thing that strikes me the most was the fact that people know voip is in the game now and they know its there for communicating with the team to coordinate.
But the real question still lies...How can the team hear me(us) when I'm(we're) too ignorant to use voip and coordinate with the team? I mean its their fault for not hearing us when we said they were flanking, they lost us a match because they're too ignorant to understand we're too ignorant to talk to the them, its just abysmal what our PUGS do because we don't talk to each other.
Also wasn't there like a crap ton of complaints about being unable to talk to the team? Then once PGI implements it barely anyone uses it.
