Tbh i think 12 Dakka Kodiaks are going to destroy 12 Dakka Whales, due to being faster and more able to spread damage and having far better positioned hardpoints, while having very nearly the same firepower (2xUAC10 + 2xUAC5 + 4xERSL on the Kodiak, Vs 2xUAC10 + 3xUAC5 on the DW). They have exactly the same armour and structure, but the Kodiak actually gets to use the ~200 IS+A on its arms to tank damage, where the whale does not due to its cube shaped body

Dakka Kodiaks aren't going to have that much time to twist....just like the Dakka Whale, so firepower matters more, but you also wouldn't rush with dakka because Splatlases would rip you up once you got in range.

Though in a team environment, a Dakka Kodiak would be able to support pushes much better since it actually has some speed (though I would still go XL 375 and 4 UAC10s).

Uh what? the Splatdiak? Kodisplat? can easily do over 110 burst damage. And it has the speed to kite Atlases around and stay outside their 270m splat range. Atlases dont stand a chance.

Unless it has some horrendous, and I mean HORRENDOUS, unforeseen downside its easily going to be the best assault mech in the game. Which means its still inferior to most heavy mechs :P

FTFY

Its also boring gameplay. I want to play shooty stompy robots, not standy in square robots.

Then scout the enemy base rush and then shoot them before they cap your base.

He was talking about the Dakka Kodiak, not the Splatdiak.

Atlas Schmatlas

4 of these in the front killing one target at a time.
Backup should consist of mechs that can JJ into firing positions. (like 8 TBRs with a crapton of firepower)

You could bring more Warhawks depending on the map., but they present the same problem the atlases do. They take up so much space you can't focus fire.
