The only radar ways of detecting ECM are BAP/CAP and own ECM in disrupt mode. Is it true that BAP is different to CAP in way that CAP must have enemy mech targeted while BAP must be just in vicinity?

Do anti-ECM effect of CAP or own ECM can be enhanced? Possibly with Sensor Range module or Targeting Computer?

"sensor", radar may confuse you into thinking it can detect on all sides.

You can test it, but the last time I tested it (,2014 when they first came out and July 2015) it still held true.

You cannot enhance the hard counter ranges of BAP or CAP.

There is another method, but unlike those this one is not a hard counter. Just a soft counter.

There is a sweet spot (200 to 220 meters) where you can detect the ECM user with the target square and all (without BAP or CAP). At this range it flickers a bit despite being outside of the 90 meter jamming radius. This "sweet spot" soft counter can be enhanced through sensor enhancements. It is still subject to ecm's 25% lock on delay, however as a soft counter. That disappears using any hard counter.

Targeting computer does nothing so far as I know towards the sweet spot soft counter. If it does enhance sensor range then it would but I don't think it does.

Command console and sensor enhancement modules do.

Okay, what about this targeting thing in CAP vs BAP? Some people say that in order to disable enemy ECM with BAP you just need to be in range and it will all work by itself. Then when trying to do same with CAP you also must be targeting enemy ECM'er. Also is ECM in counter mode exactly same as CAP/BAP when we talk about anti-ECM range?

They work the same. They are both active probes with the only difference being that the clan version has weight and range advantage. The B in BAP stand for Beagle, which in the manufactor name. The C is CAP just means Clan indicating the tech stack.

ecm is protection from being targeted. probes are for finding other mechs. probe give you 200 extra ms, sensor range is another 200 ms.
