I think its safe to assume the mg macro of doom still exists. So technically you will be able to have your 2 dmg machine guns after the patch. Posted Image

Disregarding Lore, why should Light mechs under 35 tons get butt ***** because MGs, and Flamers for that matter, are utter garbage in this game? For that matter, why are all projectile weapons, sans the UAC5 and AC20 on a couple of builds, complete garbage compared to lasers? Do the slobbering idiots of the world really need their hands held that much more?

Yes. Yes they do.

We'll agree to disagree.

I dont care about TT and you guys dont care about Lore.

*headdesk* But the quote you had was about a MISS.

Quote

2) "most of the slugs going wide as he sprayed in an arc 60 degrees in front of his 'Mech. The few that hit bounced like peas off the side of an elephant."
60 degree arc. Only a few shells hit. This is, in Tabletop parlance, a miss. In MWO even with high damage machine guns would be the same. Get hit by just a couple bullets out of a 60 degree spray and you're not taking any damage of note.
Try it. Take a triple ac2 mech. Spray rapidly across 60 degrees. Even if a shell from each hits, you're probably doing two damage to each of three facings. One would scoff at that as shells bouncing off your armor (which is essentially what happens when even ac20 shells hit mech armor without penetrating)
You're basically drawing a really sketchy conclusion from a mostly missed spray and pray shot in a novel written by some random dude.

"The few that hit"

Even by your "Lore" qualification, this quote is irrelevant. He MISSED.

So, no, it's not that "I don't care about lore", it's that your trying to push that a weapon (in a GAME) should remain literally useless because you read that somebody missed a mech while spraying fire around in a novel. That's just ridiculous.

Even from your "random novelist ramblings = lore" stand, you're still wrong.

Unless you're going to argue that any time there's an instance in a novel of a weapon failing to do worthwhile damage when fired for any reason, that qualifies as "In Lore, that weapon wasn't effective against mechs!" Is that where you're going here? I bet I can find examples of where people miss with or fail to do useful damage with all sorts of weapons in novels.
