When you play Counter-Strike at "aim" map - game insures, that everybody is in equal conditions and gives Warfare Magnum to everybody by default. May be we should separate Snipe/LRM Meta maps into separate Snipe/LRM game mode too, so everybody will know, that they should bring long range builds in order to play this maps properly?

Now why would you want different builds separated into their own respective maps and matches? Half of the fun in the game is having to identify and adapt to the stuff enemy team, and the map, is tossing at you.

I think the "adapt" might be the keyword to your answer why he wants it :-D.

I thought we wanted more variety on the battlefield, not less.

He already said: he want new variety of Counter Strike. Too little brain to "adapt" Posted Image

Why is he even playing this sophisticated game anyway?

It would make more sense for players to have a 2-4 mech lance that they can switch to depending on the map.

It would make more sense for people to build their 'mechs in such a way that they are viable on any map.

Eh, this is no different than people asking for more brawl maps and asking for the ability to choose mech based on map. Example, load a dropship, select quickplay. Once game mode and map is chosen, select mech you will use from dropship.

Combine that with a map heavily optimized for sniping as one of the 4 options in many drops. If it's unpopular it will only get played when OP gets a high vote modifier, and the rest of us can adjust for one game in 16.

Stealing ideas from other games that players enjoy is what all good game developers do, so why the hate?

Also newer players don't remember when jump sniping was the meta, so they have never gotten a fair chance to decide if they like it or hate it.

sums it up pretty well for me

Not going to bother going into the technical reasons not to do something like this OR the fact that you can quite simply play private matches if you want very limited options available to the players in the match.

Sorry, special snowfalkes you are not, you don't get a special queue every time you come up with a "neat" limited way to play MWO

When I first read this I thought it was an idea topic about pressing TAB and going to a slightly different cockpit UI. Interesting idea.

I guess kind of like in Star Wars when the X-Wing pilots were doing the Death Star run.

Just save up your map votes and vote for the Polar map. You'll be all set.

There are also plenty of maps that aren't as LRM or sniper friendly, ever thought of that perspective?
