This is in regards to the upcoming February 16th patch and the tweaks to IS mechs.

Some of these mechs were overpowered (blackjack) but many of them weren't. Your playerbase is essentially a huge mech-build RnD operation and you can just ask the players via poll which mechs need help and which don't.

Maybe there is a guy in the office whose sole job is to continually keep the player base off balance and force them to buy and build the new meta. Maybe this guy tells you you need him, that he is not overpaid and that the game will die without him. He is lying.

Joking aside, I don't understand where this mentality comes from -- 'ignore silly players, ignore game features, keep tweaking and over-adjusting stats for years, devs know best' -- but I don't see a reason to support this game as long as this trend continues.

TL;DR: small tweaks informed by players = good. huge tweaks that veer away from conventional wisdom of player experience = bad. in the meantime, the rest of the game suffers while you get bogged down in this ... 'quirkmire'.

This system doesn't work because of factional play.

To ask players 'informed' opinions opens the game to all kinds of abuse, already, without having a pole and a vote you can clearly see players both I.S, and clan claiming mechs that don't need adjusting, need nerfing.

Am I saying players are deliberately trying to cheat to gain an advantage.

You betcha
