Do you guys ever drop into a match with your Light Mech to run off to scout, of course away from the group, only to have a guy on mic say, "come back to the group, you're going to die."

About the time he says that you kill their scout mech only to snicker as you run away. Meanwhile 5 minutes later your team is still sitting in the hole.

You give them coordinates where the enemy is (Polar HighLRMlands)
They run into the opposite direction
You give them again the position
No reaction
Meanwhile the firsts assaults get caught by the enemy mob and killed one by one
You tell them that they should f* turn around
They run on

Of 10 lights in pug matches that run of for scouting:

- 4 run straight into the enemy and die within 90sec
- 3 do scouting but dont write or say anything to share the information
- 2 type "d3" because they saw an enemy light and so make the whole team turn for it
- 1 gives usefull information over voip like "d3 3 heavies 2 Kdk 3s"

I had a guy on Polar Highlands recommend just returning to our base and waiting "since we couldn't find the enemy team" after I had reported that the enemy had set up to defend their own base from a nearby group of buildings. I repeated their location which resulted in 2/3 of the team attempting to attack the enemy and 1/3 grumbling that no one returned to defend our base with them.

We lost.

I do hate being in a Light Lance and seeing one of us charge head on to die in 2 minutes.

Another gripe: I know the LRMers on the team need scouting locks, but are the other 3 tonnage classes incapable of sneaking peaks over a hill or around a corner?

I'm liking the Chat Wheel. Makes it faster to mark spotted enemies than typing and cheaper than a headset.

Honestly... I can't remember the last time someone said that. At least not when I wasn't basically entirely behind the enemy conga line in my jenner IIC. Yes... I'm gonna die... but hold until my team is going to engage and then I smash the ever loving crap out of them. Well I used to... now I mostly run lolcusts because they're just silly fun.

I hate that. Not as much as when my scouting reveals that the enemy has split for a hammer and anvil manuever and my team won't charge one of the two sides and then gets ROFL stomped as a result.

While free is the cheapest you're going to get... at the very least I'd buy this Sub $10 mic. There are some folks that can't afford a $10 mic, but... most can and should.

I like it when you pop a UAV and reveal the entire enemy team, and rather than adjust to their position your team trips over themselves getting away and get picked off one by one as the few non-cowards get steamrolled.

Oh man, so much this. It is so aggravating to risk your neck for that perfect UAV placement and have your friends interpret it as "Dragons be here, stay away"

Well, usually light mechs who run far away from the group like that do get killed even if they're just "scouting," so it's pretty understandable to say that.

I've seen this happen a number of times with my own excellently placed UAV and it makes me rage to no end.

I think the worst of all is when you be *that one* scout every one wishes they could have. The one constantly following and giving out enemy location and type and the whole team does nothing except for that scout risking it all...for nothing. For the most part I let the uav scout for me and let the greens chase the red stuff on map.

It dose get tiresome to do the job a light was meant to do, but not get squat for a reward at the end of a match. My K/D ratio is balls, but I'm not worried about getting kills. I'm focused on finding the targets, lighting them up and giggling when I can get a heavy or medium to chase me back to the team to get pasted.
