Any idea how to make it so that we can have some sort of command Mech or command role? They say that the Atlas is popular to commanders to use as a command Mech but IDK how that functions there. We could use the Command Console item, which can only be equipped on Heavies and Assaults, as a base start to develop this role. The item's attributes obviously need to be changed/enhanced so it would be essential for commanders to bring it to battle.

Or make it so that Mechs equipping one have some sort of enhanced "Battle Map" functions (not sure what exactly).

What do you think? This will give IS an edge and distinguish them further to the Clans!

This has been talked about since closed beta. Much talk of a command role of some sort that could call in assets like tanks and air support. Maybe more artillery consumables and stuff like that for a command role player. Navigation flares seem likely. That's 4 assets right there.

Mines seem very likely to make it into the game at some point. Maybe other interesting assets.

The new phase 3 is bringing in some kind of orbital strike or something and that's for sure.

Very likely they have some design done on this in fact but its not in the schedule yet.

Definitely no details were ever given just a lot of chat about ideas. Some of them very cool.

Unrelated but speaking of assets, I'm almost certain there is a ton of work being done on turrets at the moment. Possibly upgrades or something. Although this could have something to do with planet ownership in some way and may have to do with an off the field command role of some sort.

A simple way, and a very mean/dirty way, would be to require your side to have a Command Console, some where (and alive) to be able to use Artillery/Air strikes, period. I'd also alow the CC to be able to deploy them via the battle map, and give it one of each.

But I'm mean like that.... As for Clanners in CW, suck it up, they are not hard to avoid if you've got half a brain working.

i'd be down for some type of encouragement to play the command role. and as an owner of i think 2 CC's i'd curious to see wht type of buffs they give it
