Ok, who else here has issues with the chat feature? Every time the game auto-switches to a different spectate it deletes what you type. What it starts or ends a match it deletes what you type. A quarter of the times I hit enter it doesn't even send it.

Yeah, it's been like this since 2012. So it should be fixed in approximately... never.

Yeah, I would like be able to to scroll back and see what the other teammate said that everybody responded "Rodger" to so it scrolled away before I could read it. Or actually finish a sentence before the screen flips and I lose everything before I can press enter. No wonder if I am in a match all you usually get from me is 07

It's literally the worst chat box of any online game ever made. I played online games in the 90's with better chat systems.

Somehow, it's gotten worse recently.

Now, if you press Enter to type what you wrote...it disappears half the time.
While also switching to Team or Lance chat (while you were typing All).


Not even sure how a bug like that occurs.

Hey random command is finally get fixed in the next patch. Maybe chat isn't so far away after all?

I think it actually sends even though you can't see it. It's especially bad when typing just before the end of round

There will be a new resulting bug. Count on it.

Previously, there was the slow backspace to delete stuff bug which inevitably got replaced by the Commander bug.

Since we're on this subject, do any of you have issues with this board using IE? If I create a new paragraph, my ability to type is reduced in half (i.e., half of the letters that I type don't activate) and at no point in time can I ever use my delete button on highlighted text. I have to go to a different tab, wait a few seconds, and come back to fix it. Plus, the quote function hardly ever works and the edit function is iffy, at best.

I used to use IE9 and it worked okay, but then it auto updated to 10 and it wouldn't let me make more than one line of text. I updated to 11 and got that bug where it eats half your characters and finally got fed up enough to install Chrome. I have zero regrets after switching

I'll admit, the chat box is pretty ******* useless I'd be happy if it was more persistent and had a quick scroll, and 'quick reply' buttons. PGI has been in a roll working on community suggested stuff. Maybe I'll Tweet the overlords

As others have said, MWO's chat is the probably the worst chat in an online game I, too, have ever played, and I've been playing online FPS since (Battlefield) 1942.

For me, it is not random, I get command as soon as I use my jumpjets. This even works in my Atlas when I press jump while midair. This is not random but rather specific, don't you think?

For the chat box, you guys really need to learn how to type faster

It's completely random, but lag seems to factor in and make it more likely. Space bar is the most common key to trigger it but I've had it trigger from other keys as well.

I don't even have space bar bound to anything, my jump key is numpad0

It's annoying but I've vaguely gotten used to it and keep an eye on the timer if I'm rambling on the chat. I just dump whatever I was saying halfway and resume when I'm powering up my mech.

Numpad0 is one of the one's I've had trigger it. I use it for 100% throttle lock
