Hi all,

SInce starting MWO in late May my NA ping has been stable and consistent at 270-280.

However for about 3 weeks now my ping has skyrocketed to sit around 520 and isn't fluctuating. I live in Sydney and my ISP is Telstra. Does anyone else have this issue and/or know what is going on. I know if I ring Telstra they will just play dumb.

My Oceanic ping has stayed at around 160 and my Europe is around 450 as normal.

Any info appreciated

They are in the process of fixing the submarine cable from Sydney to Guam. Might be fixed by the end of March.

Even with the cable issue as above. Telstra have REALLY stupid routing.
I know one east coast Telstra player did a trace route, and saw his connection heading to North America via France!

I'm in Perth using iinet, and my ping has been unaffected. (approx. 280)

Yep. I'm seeing that Telstra routing through France myself (I'm in NZ). My VDSL Cable provider, "Vodafone", had purchased Telstra NZ and now I'm stuck with these lousy routing issues, while other high-speed fibre subscribers get routed straight through to the US from Sydney.

Time for me to complain or see about switching from cable to fibre.
