Post PSR - getting the Death Star is going to be a nightmare unless you can convince a 12 man team to try to help you farm it by legging mechs.

Otherwise your best bet is going to be in a 110 kph+ mech with at least 6-8 ML/MPL and a duration reduction. Running around like a bat out of hell kill stealing everyone on the field. I got mine with a BJ-1X pre-PSR while it still had the crazy duration reduction, and since PSR the most kills I've managed is 8 twice once in a Mauler and once in a Dire (pre-skill tree debuff).

Possible with a light laser boat, but you likely won't have the heat efficiency to boat ML or range to snag the last/first couple kills. Timberwolf might be prime for it with the energy debuffs gone though.

Either way getting it in PSR matches is going to be pure luck of timing and being in the right place at the right time.

---
Also congrats on the headshot achievement!

Nope Dimento is that good I used to be in RRB and dropped with him when I was up late at night

I aim for the nuts, they can't torso twist those

With all the timid peeking and crap, those might be smaller targets than cockpits for most players.

LOL @ Cathy

I try for headshots myself but clearly not as much as you Dimento - I think I'm around 200 and some. Most of mine are from unfortunate people who overheat in front of me.

I was actually curious if anyone has earned guillotine yet. I've never seen the reward tag in game. I always assumed the first person to get there would have their account reviewed for aimbotting. Guillotine = aimbot honeypot. ;)
I recall seeing a screenshot of someone having 1000 headshots in their achievements on these forums, HOWEVER, I have no idea if that was 'doctored' or not, and if I recall, the screenshots was posted in the patch feedback as a demonstration of some sort of bug. That was well over a year ago (probably much longer by now), so y'know... Who knows if anyone ACTUALLY has that achievement.

Considering how long it has taken me to get to 500 I'd be surprised if anyone actually has gotten 1000... I WOULD NOT be surprised if there were some folks with MORE than 500 headshots, but a 1000?

It's damned hard to do with 'mechs that ARE NOT shut down or disco'd, so...

Well, 'unofficial' achievement. There's no "real" achievement at 500 (but goddamned feels like there SHOULD be one, lemme tell you), but thanks!

7 head shots in 2110 kills, I clearly need to step up my game

To those mentioning discos, think again, DC mechs are actually harder to headshot, as the hitboxes get screwed up on most mechs when they're DC.

When I'm going for headshots(I have a much lower number than Dimento), I try to go for them on the mechs I know have really easy cockpits to hit: Atlas, BLR, 'Phract, Cent, 'Pult, HBR, Jenner...maybe some others, but those are the most obvious offenders.

Atlas is my favorite, because most Atlas drivers don't actually know how to play their rides properly, fail to twist, and when they stare, most alphas can take that left eye of theirs in one shot.

This is interesting as I've been wondering if anyone's actually got Guillotine thus far. I get headshot kills occasionally when running my dual-gauss Jager, so I always figured that it's probably possible if you play a lot, play mechs like that, and have exceptional aim.

I estimate that I get headshot myself about once every 200 games. And I regularly run as little as 8 head armour while storing ammo in the head.

I'll make a note of your name... Can always use more targets not running full cockpit armor! ;)

GZ!! im a long way to go, not really hunt for them, BUT,,,,

my best match for head shots was 4x in a row quick succession with my yen low's ac 20,

mechwarrior 'devs' decided that a head shot, is only a torso hit unless you directly plant it in the ONE SPECIAL cocpit piece, wich is BS, you hit the side of say, a cents head, or even in the back dead on, and its still only tors hit, BS!

but again GZ on the 500!!! (ac 20 headshots? most of them, gauss headshots? NONE (that i recall) so, running with a arm mounted ac 20 gives me cocpit shots, standing still with tors mounted gauss/dual gauss, good aim and zoom mod,,, bleaugh,,,

finished by arty strike all in head Posted Image

I dread when ever I see red smoke in my battlemasters. I've been destoyed so many times by a arty shell to the cockpit that it's not even funny. Arty headshots have killed me about 5/1 ratio compared to headshots by actual mech weapons.

Wow. Now that's impressive. Congrats.
In my 4718 kills I think I have like... 20-25. And I'll full out admit more than half are on discos, because they're just too hard to get, and blowing up ST's is much more reliable.
Getting a head shot is pretty satisfying when you actually try for it. Popping cocky arctic cheetahs that get too close and try to stop and line up shots, only to get an ac20 to the mouth.
I'm thinking with the new flamers I'll try and rack up a couple.

Hopefully later *********** Timbers come back into play again. Those things are ridiculously easy to cockpit, don't even need high mounted weapons if you can brawl or (now) flamer them into overheating.

Aaaand that was probably the stupidest censor I've every seen. gooseberry
