I am currently working on a little project. I thought it would be a fun idea to create and design my own map for MWO. I have the tools and software to do it. With this said i would like to have some ideas from the players themselves. What kind of map would you like to see? Once i finish creating a rough model, i will post a video of the map on the forums. Currently I am tinkering with a grassy hill/pine forest type of terrain. Lots of hills and open fields with a large section of pine tree's. But the hard part is understanding where the biggest part of the battle will take place.

This is just for fun and for kicks. If you have any idea's let me know.

I dunno... this is all I got. "Make it a solo map" = make it a solo QUEUE map. just to be clear. :)

Imperial Palace map. Marble Atria, high vaulted ceilings, ancient ceremonial battlemech (suits of armour), short corridors only high enough for lights to fit through, extensive grounds. Something along the lines of Dune2 and Naboo.

Wow. That would make a very fun map. A huge city destroyed by the wars before. My software might be able to do something like that. It would take time and alot of it. It is a great idea though. I will show you guys what i can do in the weeks to come. Be on the lookout for another post by me. I will have a video posted of my map in the near future.

The inside of the mech bay with ajoining rooms and pilot quarters. How this fits into the MechWarrior Online game play, like where the dropships are and other Mechwarriors and stuff like that, is up for guessing about.

This is technically a "map" and I may actually do this myself for fun some time. If I do, it will be my first video upload Posted Image. Then I will link it here. Posted Image With a similar pilot model of course walking around and likely dancing. Posted Image

I'm just making fun, but that would be cool to see.

Mini mechs where your mechs are battling through out the living room and maybe kitchen of a house.

Think of mechs the size of dolls and lots of big pieces of furniture everywhere. Thrown in a giant mech mashing roomba that appears randomly at times and tires to vacuum up the players.

Ishiyama is an underground map....those are tunnels.

A flat Desert with dunes trenches, craters, fortified walls and bunkers.

Call it 'Desert' and it will sound like an official MWO map.

I'd love to fight inside and out of a wreckage of a crashed Jump Ship. Remember, some Jump Ships are the size of, if not bigger than some of the maps we have.

This is a great idea I have not seen before. I really like the desert idea and also a tunnel map of some sort. Everyone wants a city map with 100 story buildings of course to.

that's awesome

Since you are tinkering with open.grassy.hills things I'd suggest the following:

one side of the map make it as beautiful as possible. Lots of grass, soft hills (enough for cover), some trees, a barn, a road (maybe), etc. The other side make it the remnants of a warzone. Huge artillery impact craters (for cover), broken hills (due to explosions), obviously less grass or dead grass, destroyed mechs, etc.

An actual city scaled to mech sizes with more room than 4 blocks to run in and out of :D
