Anyone else having this problem?

Game starts, the window comes up showing news, sales, etc.
Can't click the 'dismiss' button. Or any other button. My cursor is visible, but useless.
Only solution is to three-finger salute back to the desktop.

Having the exact same problem, but its intermittent. It sometimes starts up okay, then stops working in game, other times I just can't click anything from the first screen. If in game usually the sound goes with it at the same time.

Looks like the game loses focus for whatever reason. Does Alt+Tab in and out change anything?

No, I tried that and it didn't seem to do anything.

Yeah it does something. It locks the game as my background while only allowing the start bar to come up. Right-clicking the MWO icon to close is the way out, but nothing gets the game back.

Strange, I encountered this, but the game just crashed at the attempt go get back if it refused to alt-tab back. Are you using steam version with steam overlay or a standalone client?

Stand-alone. Been on it for years, never had a problem.

Same here, stand-alone. 50% of the time it happens when the initial screen loads. Otherwise its randomly happening while in the mechlab or in game. In game, it seems to occur only after I have died and am spectating. When checking the task manager nothing has stopped or become non-responsive. And my mistake, alt-tabbing does the same thing for me in terms of locking the game as my background while only allowing the start bar to come up.

UPDATE: Uninstalled game, reinstalled and seems to be working now

Just dropping this here since I had a similar problem. A reinstall did not help me, I had to use the "Direct3d fix" that is pinned at the top.
