Welcome Back, Pirate MechWarriors
Today we preview some of the new maps for 4v4, 2v2, and 1v1 available in the private lobby to you right now. These maps are currently untextured, so we highly recommend getting together some friends, and enjoying some old school Mario Kart MechWarrior Online.
What do you think of the new maps?
Should PGI introduce a public map generator?
Do you have a MechWarrior soundpack for Mario? (Would love to get my hands on one of those..)
Post in the comments below!
As always, let us know what you think, and (...when sober enough) we try to acknowledge your comments & suggestions in future video productions. Thanks for all the support!

awesome video.
I haven't played them but they seem to look and feel a bit more like the old solaris maps, which I like. I only hope that when they do texture them they put crowds cheering everywhere and of course Duncan Fisher commentary.

I love those maps, partially because they remind me of MarioKart!

One of the guys called the 4v4 B map, "Trivial Pursuit".
Time for another Die Roll!
Seriously though, that map is the best of the bunch (it has weird "OOB stuff" going on it).

The -42- Pirates are happy to play with people Tyler. Feel free to add me in game. Most of us are T1/T2. This isn't intended as a recruitment video, but a happy side-effect. If people are interested in more information:

Are these the actual maps? The look like they were copied over from Mario Kart 64's battle mode. (good job dropping those references into the video btw).
I probably won't spend much time in Solaris unless our unit just abandons CW for it, but from what I saw these aren't going to provide very interesting matches. They actually had good Solaris maps with the original Forest Colony and current Frozen City, the maps they suck at are ones for anything above 8 players per side.

These are actual maps that just aren't textured yet, and thank you!

They remind me of so many old games, not to mention Mechwarrior 1 and 2. Heck, also the training mode in one of the Armored Core games.
If PGI wants to make simple but procedurally created maps, I am all for it.

Part of me hopes PGI leaves the maps like they are right now, they're fun to play. Seeing more maps (textured or untextured) I think is a positive thing. It opens up the possibility for user generated untextured maps also.
Like Portal does, give users the ability to submit maps, then add a simple rating system so the community can filter the best maps to the top.

I wish PGI reintroduced the old Forest Colony, Caustic etc maps into these game modes at least (if not back into the game).

I was just talking about their layouts that makes them very Mario Kart-esque. And at that pretty much ripped directly from some Mario Kart maps.
I can look past the lack of textures, but these maps just appear to be made for an entirely different game with little concern or knowledge of how this game actually plays.
