I've been running my mastered SHD-2H a good bit lately.
My build with it, +maxed AC5 cooldown mod. It earns 300 < 500 > 800DMG per match.

Yes it's lean on ammo, yes it's slow, yes there is no JJ's and yes it's alpha is low.
But who cares because this build works super well with me and built for ROF in mind
rather then high alpha because this isn't "Sonic:The hedgehogAlphawarrior:Online"
But I'm not here to talk about my build but rather what has been happening to me lately in the
SHD.
Such as being head shotted and almost dying from it 6 matches in a row
The odds of taking a crit head shot 6 games in a row is pretty slim.
Are the SHD head hit boxes really that big? Because I've never noticed until now.

Shd Head Hitboxes.

well, it does seem to have bigger hitbox than other medium heads.
check the hitbox locatlization thread for details.

In actuality, is probably twice the size of the best head boxes.
In practice? Between these canopy shroud, left shoulder mount and such, you really need to stare to get cockpitted.
In truth I've never been headshot killed in one of my SHDs (2000 matches), and I can't even remember the last time I took head damage, aside from artillery splash.

Yeah, I had a look at that tread it's pretty good.
Wow those head hit boxes are crazy huge and this has been the only mech I know of that takes alot of head damage just from random SRM fire and that front RT is crazy shaped, it's no wonder why my RT goes first.

I take head damage even when torso twisting, SRM's and LBX's seem to get the most lucky shots on my head more then anything.
I'd shave down the head hit boxes by taking the corners off and leave it a octagon.

It also is in an intuitive spot for those that don't research where the box is.

Considering the amount of damage you are getting I'm assuming you only expose your AC5s and keep most of your mech in cover. The cockpit is right in the middle of what your enemies are able to see, and is rather large.

No I mostly brawl with it, not really much ammo to play the range game.
I know what some people are gonna say "You can't brawl with such a low alpha!"
A 3 second burst from my SHD does 55.8 So it's ROF makes up for the low alpha
and plus the blinding ROF makes most I brawl with panic because they can't see,
even had a atlas or 2(not at the sametime or same match) turn tail and run. lol
At range I duel fire the AC5's and for brawls I chainfire the AC5's + groupfire the SRM's which rips amor crazy good.
