MAL-1P
Will the two CASE prevent the explosion damage from transferring to the adjacent components in the event of Gauss explosion?

Yes, on your build CASE will protect your Center torso with engine.

Potentially saving you 40 CT damage.

The only danger is having your side torso destroyed before the Gauss Rifle, which would then trigger a check for the Gauss to explode with all 20 damage being pushed inwards.

You'll still take the 20dmg anyway and just have a cherry side half the time with or without case, as what happens most of the time with assault mechs with gauss inn the torso, they usually have enough internal left to soak that 20dmg that case won't save you from, because the gauss will usually get popped not long after the side getting openned. Basically the odds aren't good that CASE will actually save your CT from very much if any dmg most of the time.

That build with coolshots and 1-2 wingmen is flat out brutal.

He'll be playing it a bit like sword and board. Additionally you have much better convergence with the lasers on one arm allowing him to position better to clear terrain and other obstacles to get both lasers off easier,.

Yeah, pretty much this.
To fire both lasers on both arms you need to expose a lot of your Mech.

1P - If you are determined to use the 1P though for the CD time with a dedication to crit buffing this lets you keep up with the Dires and KGCs and pads your LL's while giving you some actual shield armor.
-- Just remember if you are going CW people are definitely testing out/running larger computers now so crit rate is going to pop through that CT padding fast if you don't have any armor on that arm. Want to stay 0 armor you should probably put ac2s or 5s on that side.
