after todays patch mwo start off in the wrong screen no matter where i drag the splash screen to start it from.

i now need to go into settings each time and change full screen window mode to windowed mode drag the client to the screen i want it to play in and then go into settings and enter full screen windowed mode to play on the screen i want to play in.

What is your screen #1 by windows opinion, e.g. which display is primary? And which is first display in video drivers configs (nVidia drivers do distinct somehow and shows that)? Might be that MWO starts not where it was last time, of where is your cursor (as some time before it was) but defaults to the 'primary' display.

Then reassign if possible and rearrange displays virtual layout if needed (will not require physical monitors to be moved). Then much depends on windows version how much it will affect your normal course of action.
If that is unacceptable, then let's hope they'll update their launcher.

I have an alike problem:

2 monitors. Primary houses windowed MWO client - secondary shows chrome / firefox / whatever / even nothing.

Windowed because you cannot switch between programs without minimizing MWO if in full screen.

Changing to full screnn via alt+enter now shuts my second monitor off. It goes blank just the moment i switch to full screen.

I got it solved for my part.

Video > Direct X version > DX9 > problem solved.

Somehow DX11 on MWO slows the whole system and deactivates secondary screens if full screened via ALT+ENTER.

My client seemed to have set itself to DX 11 after the recent patch, causing problems for me, changing it back to DX 9 solved my issue, thanks for the tip Luise.

dx 9.0c fixes all the problems and the frame rate went back up to 60 again thanks for the help

dx9.oc also fixes the bluescreen from the canyon network

so now they know where to look lets find a fix for it guys instead of the hot fix for a flamer who gained a slight advantage from 5 yards away who i might run into once every 3 or 4 weeks of playing.

thanks guys for the help

The problem is that most cards that have issues with DX11 are actually officialy do not support DX11. And PGI plans in half a year move to the new CryEngine that will, most probably, leave DX9 behind. I'd take that as a first warning to upgrade.

And can I haz PPC shot/hit animation from Closed Beta?

Words of wisdom Pyro. If your gpu is 5-6 years old, its time to save up for a new system.

Thought I was only one having issues with two monitors. Yes now I get my monitor shutting down when playing Mechwarrior on 2 monitors. So far the windowed full screen mode seems to have fix but I will go back to DX9 if problem comes back. Thanks for the help.

upgrades on custom machines are not very simple and are very expensive most of my programs will not like any changes i make i usually suppress auto updates for years or until absolutely necessary i see this is going to make life difficult to play this game over the next year
