For three out of 4 variants, it's basically the same build.
Legend Killer
RFL-3N
RFL-3C
Since I only plan to keep the LK and 3N, no problems for me (I am preferring the 3N over the LK though).
Here's the oddball build but I found something that works.
RFL-5D

I like that layout best in the 3N. Much prefer the MPL on the same trigger. 3C got to has AC10 though, and the 5D, PPC, oor no dice for me.

Then you play as an assassin.
Alternatively, you wait for that enemy atlas or king crab to separate from its friends and then go see if you can outbrawl it in your papermache mech. More often than not, they freak out when you start shaking their cockpit and ripping off armor in big chunks and next thing you know, dead assault.

I tried running the ERPPCs on it but the heat spike was horribad. Since I am not planning on keeping it, I didn;t spend any more time tweaking. Just found what I needed to "git r dun."

The only people who declared the Rifleman DOA are people who forgot about "tonnage" as if the Rifleman was supposed to be on par with a 75 ton Heavy Mech.

With just a pair of AC/5s (or UAC/5s - though there's no way in hell I'd use such an unreliable weapon system on a papermache weapons platform) your face-time to deal any significant damage is really high. More often than not your torsos will go before the arms take any significant amount of damage. If you're twisting to mitigate damage, you're not shooting. If you're not shooting, you're going to die a LOT faster.

Hence why my builds cannot be meta.
Also, I have found the RFL to be more XL friendly than most. Not perfect, but for me, it's definitely workable.

Not meta, because it doesn't have near enough sustainability. I can pick out five major weaknesses to exploit, the XL being the smallest of them.

When did they Meta re-adopt UACs?
Also, you know some of us used weapons before metashifts brought the copypasta masses to offer door step. Meta shifts to PPCs tomorrow, I ain't gonna stop using them just because lemming nation is using them now.

I generally approve of insanity of all sorts. It's far more interesting than vanilla copypasta.

I think my favorite part about my Rifleman is the fact that it moves at 80+ kph with a Standard engine and can force a 100 ton assault mech to torso twist away from my 44 points of damage that can be fired four times before overheat.
