It's something fun to do while we wait for the match to start. Posted Image I like it.

And I love to instantly vote for terrible map, so it looks like it's winning for the whole 15 seconds of voting, but switch my vote at last second, so it loses at the end due to guys, who wanted it, switching to other maps to stack their multiplier, so they lose both - map, they wanted, and their multiplier.Posted Image

I think that I bothered to even vote like 10 times since it came in, then I realized that I just don't care what map comes up.

Great! Posted Image Posted Image Then anti lrm, anti cold, anti heat, anti energy all have to swallow the random map they got. Right now the voting game is just ridiculous.
For example "Oh noes polar highlands, we cant use things that counter LRM lets downvote it for sure because we cant or wont adapt, also the energy meta heads will have a field day" Good grief I say. use ECM, AMS, adaptable use of cover.

Example 2 "Noooo, Terra therma! How dare they downvote our chance to go full lasermeta?!" Posted Image HEAT MANAGEMENT I say Posted Image

Sure can drop out of the match in childish protest, but in what end does that help? Ruin it for the other teammates? Good job with that.. Everyone have to play the map and adapt.
PGI have surprisingly improved some maps, like the bog map which I couldnt stand at all before, but had to play it and now when I got used to it, I have adapted and can use heat intensive weapons if I care for heat management.

Now game mode selection can stay but the modes needs a serious overhaul. Also there it is hope I think, judging from the streams, podcasts and such. Bigger bases? Better turrets? Would be nice.

I use a decent OP Heavy like Mad or Twolf and do like another poster does by voting the least favorite to farm my votes while having a mech that will still work on that map. When my votes are high enough I can switch to a mech that works on certain maps and use the big vote number to swing other peoples votes. You can also get an idea of the tier ranges that will be playing by often the votes switch and to what choices.

It's a fun game while it lasted.

My hate for the voting system is best exemplified by this example:

When Polar Highlands came out, it took me six days to actually land a public queue drop on it in the Group and Solo queues combined. My map multiplier hit 11 and I still couldn't get it. It wasn't until it hit 12 that I was finally able to overpower everyone else and force a drop on Highlands.

Stupid voting system. For the first time ever, I actually miss RNG.

Getting the map you'd like is actually easier if you don't vote lol.

Then again it really doesn't matter what map you drop on unless its Polar because the rest are all basically playing the same exact 4x4 grid in every match anyhow.

I always knew my favorite maps weren't the same as the maps that more regular players enjoy. What I never knew was that literally no one likes my preferred maps and conquest. It's like playing Smash. Everyone wants Final Destination be because it's boring and safe and I just want to play Planet Zebes and Saffron City with items on because IKD it's fun or something.
