As most of you may know, the newest patch buffed MASC for 'mechs that can equip it.

One of these 'mechs being the WVR - 7D.

For this, make sure you have speed tweak.

Step one:

Add XL 360. (max engine)

Step two:

Add MASC.

Step three:

Add 2x SRM 6 + ARTEMIS with 4 tons of ammo, a medium pulse laser, and four jumpjets. (reduce armor off the arms and maybe in other places to achieve enough tonnage)

Congratulations! You now have a 55 ton 'mech that can go 143 kph.

Note: This is NOT a new player friendly build. Use at your own risk.

Sounds like a giant Huggin. Fun.

Alas, I got rid of Wolverines and in this case, I can't go and buy another.

I first tried Wolverines when I was given the loyalty version last year. Figured what the heck and bought some MC and a reward running at the time was a gift of a Quarantine. Bought a third to complete the group.

Played em for a month and I have never hated the experience of playing this game, until I played those mechs. I hated them all so much that I actually had support remove my loyalty version and the reward Quarantine (neither could be sold).

Now, between masc improvement and my embracing of odd builds, I would probably enjoy them if for no other reason than the novelty.

Let this be a lesson kids: don't sell mechs that you don't like, and for sure don't have support remove them. You WILL regret it.

That is the only build i can force myself to play on the utter garbage WVR - 7D (L) and i have had reasonable success with it.

We have had this discussion before Bud. Im still selling off mechs. Sold 6 today, despite having 15 free bays. I almost had my Loyalty Wolverine removed too, i despised the mech that mutch, despite the odd good game with it, when i was levelling it, but forgot to and finally fell into this build when i saw someone else doing something similar.

Its not that much fun to regret the sale tbh, Its ok but i can still only play it now and then, it just doesnt feel like its doing enough most times.

Hey Ace,

Yeah there are a lot of mechs I have sold and then bought back. Haven't done it with wolverines yet. Regret isnt the right word perhaps. More like...ocd inspired boredom. On the one hand, I hate having mechs I don't/can't play, on the other, I hate not having mechs that I convince myself I could play if I would just try harder. That is the wolverine in a nut shell.

I wanted to make this, never tried Wolverines. Sad to see there's no 7D for sale. I love fast mechs other then lights.

This build isn't blindingly fast but it is about as best as I could make it for my playstyle -

WVR-7D(L)

I put in an AC10 instead of the UAC5 as despite the UAC5 -30% jam chance it was jamming almost all the time - not fun when it is the mechs main weapon.

All in all a terrible mech - however the mildly rejuvenated MASC does help a little in dodging incoming, fast turns or instant max speed when landing from jump jetting.

Here's how I've been running mine. Decent enough DPS, but it sure as hell ain't for peeking. I dearly wish I could strip out the lower arm and hand actuators... but as is? I still have fun with it, and I do at least break even with it, but there's no question that the hardpoints are subpar. I'm glad MASC doesn't suck anymore, though. It's actually worth taking vs. 3 tons more engine.

confirmed - kind of a one-trick pony, but an effective one.
