Back in my day... we didn't call weak computers a potato, we called them a toaster! And our mechs had inverse kinetics to walk uphill, in the snow, both ways! And who're these "Clans" you keep talking about?

Guys, I think Grandpa's off his meds again.

I still say open up maps to the public. Make them available in Testing Grounds and private matches. Have people vote on them after dropping on them. If something consistently scores well (with UNIQUE scores, not the same person voting their map up over and over), then it gets into the game ferreals.

PGI gets tons of free maps, we get tons of maps to play on.

One of MWO's biggest weaknesses, in my opinion at least, is the lack of maps.

...and the lack of a Hatchetman

Plenty of open source code around

Price your can do it so far on those, reliably, then maybe I'll believe the expertise so many people claim on here

Otherwise it's just so much talking out your butts.

Yes but you need access to the base engine and mechanics or you have to start from scratch and try to import the 3d models into an open source engine.

With fan creations or logo competitions, the company usually gets broad basic starts with a decent idea that is harder to implement than their broad basic starts with a decent idea. They then take even more blame for not getting the "broad" part done.

Maps have some serious compromises that need to be made. On a project team you need someone to make them and take the blame. It is hard to cut up free work or blame the submitter.

$10 a month and you could extract all of PGI's files (I know at least a few of you are more than capable of this) and completely rebuild/flesh the game out on the new Cryengine.

PGI's studio of people that really don't seem to want to develop the game would probably throw you a party.
