Should, but PGI has stated that Slots/Tonnage for weapons/equipment will never be altered.

It would make no sense to seperate between IS and Clan Tech if we changed everything to the same values.

More importantly--Should IS XL engine ST slot requirement be changed to two?

Cause I'd really like that.

So prevent insta-death on side torso loss with 20% efficiency loss, like for clans?

Sure...provided all the heat gen quirks go away.

Nah, insta-death can stay. I just want to mount AC20 or dual UAC5s on the torsi while going fast.

Of course, no death while having 20% efficiency reduction is also something I won't complain about. Lord knows I would love that on my Banshee, or Battlemaster.

This game is fun! Should IS have...

SSRM4s and SSRM6s?

There is a reason most games have mirrored builds on opposing factions.
Even then it is hard to balance.
For MWO I think the differences should be 5%-10% on range, heat and duration with structure and engines being the same and omnipods the big difference (couple of switch hitters per side). It would be boring as all get out, but we could at least move forward. (Hard points would rule like before Clan)

if you do this, why not drop IS altogether and just play clan tech for everyone?

PGI should have stuck with their original 3015 timeline and avoided a shipload of problems.

Right. Let's just put everything in a blender and make a vanilla smoothie of the MWO experience.

Inner Sphere Dire Wolf IIC Mk 2 Battlemech with Inner Sphere XL with Clan XL rules, omnipods with hardpoint inflation, unlocked ECM and 400 engine cap, combining Inner Sphere AC20s and MLs with Clan LPLs and CSRM6's.. Give it a command console with the stats of a Mk V Targeting computer and CASEd ammo. It has a +50% LP bonus for any faction.

Also, remove contracts in CW so everyone can use the same mechs against everyone.

Any other good ideas? Clan Ultra Long Toms with Artemis?

So no more bitching about IS vs Clan tech?
I would like that very much, thank you.

Lets just remove one of those pesky actuators in each leg so we can fit an IS DHS in each leg. We can get by without an actuator and just hobble around.

How about we just switch over to the MW4 mechlab and no longer have to worry about DHS criticals ever again? Never going to happen between the design/coding effort and the TT purist rage that would happen due to this change, but meh, it is better for the game.

I'd like 300m/s LRMs. Maybe add gremlins that would possibly randomly disable parts of your mech before a match, based on a luck roll. Also, health regen if you duck into cover for a few seconds.
