I know that the mech can explode if I override the automatic shutdown in case of overheat. Is there a risk to have a (minor) damage to the mech even if the automatic shutdown is working?
Thanks,
cheers,
D.

Your CT will take some damage even if you're shut down and past 100% heat. It seems to be a lot less than the damage you take when overriding though.

I think the Mech gets damaged when you get much more than 100% (usually when doing alpha strike at 80-95%).
You can see in your cockpit if you get damage while in shutdown....there are yellow lights blinking. They aren't active when you don't get damage.

You would just lose more heat when you shut down but if you over heat way too much by going over the scale then yes you will still take damage even while shut down....

You will have a yellow core CT after doing an alpha on a nova prime. All the ghost heat also means you stay shutdown for a good 15-30 seconds before powering back up, and overriding to come out of shutdown sooner will result in a blown CT. Don't ask me how I know this, it wasn't a good start to a match, stupid twitchy fingers.

I respect you for this.
