I feel obliged to comment on the MWO community.

AMAZING

It is refreshing to see a community so interested in the topic of the game. So willing to help out. I see a lot of posts from new people joining in and just as many old timers willing to share the info.

In the recent past I've been around the forums of games like WoT, DIII heck even Torchlight 2 and it seems like it's a capital crime to ask a question that god forbid someone has answered already.

I've noticed posts about touchy subjects like Win Rate, Urban Mechs, etc. and they all take on a shape of a "Discussion" rather than a "Flame War". Could it be that the Mech nerds are just better ppl? (I proudly call myself a Mech Nerd btw :)) Heh, must be! Could of course just be that the genre has captivated passionate people that welcome the opportunity to share the game with "Fresh Meat" :)

Anyway, I've been having a really hard time deciding whether to get a founders pack or not since I haven't had a chance to play at all and the vids that are out don't really showcase the game very much but this right here, the community that surrounds and supports this game, might help with the decision.

So to all, Cudos!

OP: Well, I would like to comment on both topics that caught your attention, but that would rather spoil your good opinion.
Let's just say that the bad vibes do not originate from MW:O or PGI, as they are breaking new ground here. It's more like people having a strong opinion based on other/worse games and usually with good reason and compelling arguments on both sides. Most of the time it's just a matter of perspective IMO. Threads with diverging opinions are probably the best on average, as you can learn quite a lot. That is, if you don't judge others by your standards or past/related experiences. Me, I'm glad to be part of this community because there are so many awesome guys in here that contribute/d on multiple levels throughout the years and beyond. It's a whole different ballgame compared to the other communities out there with a half life measured in average product life cycles. This community existed for decades and will continue to do so, no matter what. Little wonder that it's so EFFing awesome :D
