The BJ is likely still the outright best MEDIUM mech (yes that was a typo...)...that is not to say others do not have a place.

pffft
I'll take that bet. Crabs
I'd take a crab toe to toe with an SC. I HAVE actually lol The crab will hold its own with just about any build out there in the medium weight range and take on some heavies just fine.

Just no dude. Blackjacks are flat out better then Crabs. Crabs are decent but they aren't at the top of competitiveness.

3-4 C-ERLL Adder is very powerful right now. 15% heat generation is no joke.

3x C-ERLL ADR

4x C-ERLL ADR

I honestly dont understand how anyone runs ERLLS on a Adder without getting totally destroyed, due to being exposed in one of the squishiest mechs in the game for at least 1.5 seconds (2+ if you want to fire more than two), with a gigantic shoot me please cyan line pointing out its location. Even LPLs are too much exposure time imo.

Ill take my ERPPCs with 25% velocity boost and snapshoot + hide, thanks.

Positioning and range.

Being able to hit a target for 44 damage at over 800m in a light mech is no joke. I learned this first hand getting zapped by Celyth in our matches against EmP last week.

Eh, maybe comp games where you can guarantee being able to STAY at least 800m away, imo in any form of normal use its a bad build, due to the fact that ranges can and do reduce to the point where people with other weapons are in range, and then you cant do anything except get cored trying to shoot someone, whereas the PPCs work fine at any range (and, unless you're someone with GODLIKE aim, just as heat efficient, since 11 dmg/10 heat over a 1.5s beam is really not that different to 15 dmg/15 heat with 5 of it being autospread. Its still roughly 1 heat = 1 dmg)

Well you only get 5 spread damage if you hit a torso. Hitting legs for example at 800m is a lot easier with lasers IMO. PPCs are too likely to thread the needle or miss entirely and even if you do land a solid hit only 10 of the damage is where you want it.

In any case, I've run the 4xC-ERLL Adder in quick play several times and have been able to hit 700-800 damage fairly frequently. It doesn't really have the heat efficiency to be a 1k+ damage match unless it's over 10 minutes. The 3xC-ERLL is likely going to net higher damage numbers in quick play where return fire is usually a lot less nasty. In any case, I think it's the strongest dedicated long range light mech currently.
