Is it just me or is everyone affected by sudden death or serious damage caused probably due to high ping?

What i mean is, a laser only grazed me for less than a second but suddenly i get red armor or I only peaked for a second and suddenly a full health arm is blown off which i barely noticed a laser coming to me?

even when i am hidden after peaking i still notice that i am taking damage.

I didn't notice this before but now it seems to be impossible to ignore and becoming annoying

could this be because i have high ping (i dont consider 230 ping as high anyways) and my shooter has a 50+ ping... so meaning he has already shot me many times before it actually registered on my end.

is anyone noticing this?

1. sometimes the servers to not provide notification of incoming damage. It happens all the time.
2. it was more that 1 LL, it was probably 4.

I've noticed the same. Lots of ghost hits when latency creeps up.

Same when dealing damage. On my end it looks like I'm hitting with weapons, only to end a match with minimal damage.

230 (especially in this game) is getting up into a pretty high ping. I don't play on Oceanic for just that reason. Toss in sketchy server performance over the past few weeks and there's a lot of reasons that example of yours could have happened unfortunately.

I refuse to play on a server where my ping is over 100. It's too wonky, too inconsistent. Even so, If there is a player on the other team with high ping (200+) things still get screwy (i hit him with no apparent damage or he hits me with no sensory notification. I'm sure the same thing is happening in reverse from his perspective too).

Can't imagine having to play on Oceanic, I'd probably just play something else.

I have been waiting for PGI to fix that server for a long time.

I have now turned it off.

Should have done it sooner.

Problem solved.

If you get more than 200 ping, don't play on that server. A fifth of a second is pretty huge in real time games.

you wouldn't leave anywhere for aussies to play this game, if we shouldn't play if our ping is over 200.... even oceanic is over 200 for most of us, 350 on NA & 450 odd for me on EU server.... aussies adapt and over come, however that EU ping is way to high for me.

i get 350 ping on oceania playing on 3g usb wifi, and this often happens to me where i see damage applied a split second after i have moved

People say high ping is meaningless in this game.. i beg to differ, as an Oceanic (Aussie) i routinely get wasted withing the first minute or so in the EU or NA servers with a ping of 400... and oppositely do really well and survive the whole match in Oceanic servers with a ping of 140..

When i can actually get a match in Oceanic side that is Posted Image

Which in theory is awesome, but at certain times (most always) certain servers are dead...

I sometimes play Oceanic because I think it's slightly easier than the players on the other servers. IDK if it makes much a difference at higher tiers where everyone is trying to scrape a match anywhere they can.

230ish ping is not high... chuckle Posted Image Especially against 50ms. Just LOL Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

Oceanic is permaOFFed on my end, cause there is no way to get less than 160ms there. 160ms+ pings are considered barely playable. 200ms+ are unplayable at all Posted Image

I play on all servers ... I get about to 230 ms to Oceanic, compared to 60 to EU and 130 to NA.

To me 230 ms is perfectly playable, and doesn't affect my performance too much. HOWEVER, when the baseline is at 230 ms, things go downhill really quick if you have any additional connection issues (fluctuating ping, sun spots, what have you...). As long as it's a rock-solid 230 ms, it feels OK.
